With all due respect, you have now lost your fucking mind. Ridiculous.

You think Ferentz should have been out after 2005 and now is a cancer?

Dude, you're worse than Shawnee at this point and you should know better than this.
I was referring to Brian.

I haven’t wished death on anyone - so I’m not at Shawnee level.

I’m also not as serious about this as my posts may indicate. There’s so trolling involved here. Thanks for ruining it.

Phil Parker, Chris Klieman, Mark Stoops are all great options.

Instead, pathetic cuck Gary Garta will stand by for a few years as Kurt holds the Iowa program hostage and burns it to the ground.
Few years? It’s going to be dumpster fire after this year following the transfers

Which body part would you give for Bert’s offense paired with Phil’s defense for the next 10 years? Pinky toe, appendix and gall bladder are all solid choices off the top of my head.
Multiple fingers or more.

Either way, while what is going on is undeniably bad, IowaFan tends to not realize what is going on even immediately around him.

Nebrantska is a dumpster fire, Wisconsin just shit canned their coach, Northwestern is 10x worse off than Iowa and on and on. This isn't the end of the world and things can change quickly.

Sometimes fans also forget the players aren't nearly as big of reactionary pussies as they are. How many transfers have there been so far?

None. Wisconsin and others are littered with them and Iowa has zero.

People also are going to underestimate who Iowa can choose from as their next coach. It's a far more desirable job than Nebrantska or even Wisconsin at this point.

I disagree. This is an upper echelon Big Ten program with huge money and enormous fan support. You have arguably one of the best game day atmospheres in America. We’re in the Top 5(?) in sending players to the NFL.

Iowa can do this. It’s a choice not to.
There is plenty of reason to be VERY concerned about this, and strong arguments for program continuity especially given the developmental nature of Iowa. Nebrantska has been flailing for a decade+, I’m not sure I have that in me for something I enjoy.

That’s also the reason a nice little bump is right there for the taking, especially with this fucking defense.

Part of this is IowaFan hasn't experienced a truly bad season in a decade. Part of that is playing into it here.

I would take Trev Alberts over Gary Barta navigating this mess every day of the week and twice on Sunday

Lol, Trev Alberts had the opportunity to end Scott Frost and pay the same buyout he ended up paying anyways, yet he brough him back and flushed a season down the toilet so he could fuck around with an interim coach and then be in a bidding war with a bunch of other schools this December.

Brilliant move.

I guess lost somewhere in the smoke off all this is they they switched QBs and left him in the game and didn’t put Spencer back in when the offense continued to struggle and fuck up.

This season can still yield something. The defense, despite injuries to multiple early season starters gave Ohio State problems today. They’re great.

If Kirk and Brian can resist all temptation, NOT do what they did last year and leave Petras on the sideline there’s multiple potential wins on the schedule for the taking. We’ve learned throughout the course of the season that every team they still have to play are not exactly world beaters.

This doesn’t change the fact that basically the entire offensive coaching staff needs to be polishing their resumes in December, but all isn’t lost in terms of the trajectory of the program long term.

IDK 2015 kinda sucked, although 2012 was the last truly bad season. Coming off some success into this brutal of a season absolutely does magnify everything, of course. It shouldn’t be possible for everything to fall apart this quickly though. You would think a head coach of 24 years would ensure more stability if he has what it takes to keep this ship going in the right direction.

It hasn't fallen apart this quickly though. There are still 5 games left, all against mediocre to shitty teams. They should have been 5-2 right now. Won't be shocked to see them win 6 or 7 games in the regular and anything can happen in the bowl.

Teams have shitty years. It happens.

Do a lot of teams have offenses this bad and defenses this good? That part of this seems pretty unique. Then add the offensive coordinator being the head coaches son. The defense, weekly, for years, shows that talent will come and be coached up into being great. Is Phil actually THAT great of a coach, or is Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz actually that bad at his job? I think it’s the latter.

There’s shitty years and then there’s as fine of a defense as has been put on the field for Iowa in the last 20 years dragging this cold dead carcass of an absolutely dogshit offense. Hard to see any light for the future right now. Hopefully they find something that works.

Lol. Every single fucking time Iowa loses a game you swear they are never going to win again. Can't see a path!!

Let me give everyone some hope.... remember Kirk at Big Ten Media day?

He was pretty honest that Brian was made the QB coach and was given the smallest raise of anyone for a reason. He was on trial this year, and he has failed miserably.

Iowa was NEVER and will never make coaching changes during the season, but I do think Brian will move on and there will be major changes in the offseason.

Counterpoint…everyone in the nation is telling Kirk it should happen.

I’m sure they will win at least 1 more. My most negative years as a fan have been with the Brian/Petras combo. Is it too much to ask to have the offense try to score some points and play to win the game?

You need to understand they are trying as hard as they can. They’re just this bad.

Max Duggan, QB of #8 TCU, is from Iowa and went to Lewis Central. Did the Hawks have a chance to sign him? I don’t recall how that played out.

No. They determined very early on that he was too dynamic for them.

Spencer should never suit up again. Give Padilla a game or two with a full week of reps with the 1s (Labas or May with the 2s). If that doesn’t produce, then go all in on Labas and May for the last couple games to at least signal to recruits and current team that we are looking to a better future.

Brian has to be let go as soon as the season is over. Right now it’s about not burning the program to the ground for the next 6-8 years. Unfortunately, I think Spence will be taking the first snap next week and Kirk has tied his legacy to his incompetent son and incapable QB

fuck it, back to the bourbon

I think people are underestimating Brian's baggage. It isn't his performance as an OC that will prevent him from taking another job. He will have to resign or be fired.

I’m assuming Labas is scout team QB again, so no chance he is able to learn this sophisticated offense in his down time. Our only hope with May is that he’s gotten comfortable with all the various waffle-makers on the road and has been able to quickly adapt when something goes awry.

You are such a fucking crybaby. You bitch constantly about iowa yet you have season tickets and head into the stadium an hour before kickoff just so you can stare at your phone to complain on chat and brag about how you have the stones to boo the team you grew up watching.
