From his PC today. What a weenie.

Q: Player leadership after a loss like that. How have you seen it manifest since then?

KF: Yeah, I complimented the guys on Sunday because the questioning they faced, or in some cases the interrogation I experienced. The only good thing about that was it dawned on me coming home, as bad as today was it could have been worse because I could have been that guy and had his job and had to act like he did. Could be a hell of a lot worse.

I have zero inside information, but Kirk seems increasingly done with all this. Retirement odds have to be on the table.

At a minimum you can probably get that buyout reduced a bunch

Hearing statements like that, do you really think its possible that Kirk makes a fair evaluation of the team and issues they faced after the season and makes the meaningful changes that are needed to make a difference?

That's a man who think's he's being unfairly evaluated.

Just keep cranking away with what we've been doing...at some point it's going to work!

I wish I was surprised. I know he’s a stubborn old man rapidly spiraling into bitterness. But damn…..

My best guess is Kirk (and Brian) think they've had some unfortunate injuries coupled with attrition (from guys who can't do it the "Iowa Way") and 1 or 2 guys a little late on development. This is a "That's football" year and things will be back to normal next year.

They don't realize those problems are symptomatic of bigger issues, and they highlighted some of the bigger root issues like scheme, play calling, and to some degree recruiting.

We’re finally getting to see the guy many of us feared he likely was all along. It’s sad.

Feared? I liked it! But he’s lost it, he used to have control/balance. Not sure if COVID, if the changes in football, Brian struggling SO much would be hard as a dad. But something has changed him from being able to control it.

Which is nuts because they were all over him about the race stuff, and now, he insults THEM to their face and...crickets.

Kirk hitched his wagon to the worst Qb in CFB and it looks like things are going just as bad as predicted

I expected to be disappointed this year and I feared the defense couldn't be expected to create as many points as they did last year, but I never expected Petras to get worse each week and to wind up despising Kirk Ferentz the football coach. This isn't anywhere near what I would have predicted in even my most pessimistic moments.
