There was a ton of smoke about Josh Gattis running the offense, but that’s not going to happen. The most likely scenario is for current analyst Jon Budmayr to shift to quarterbacks coach and take on offensive coordinator responsibilities. Budmayr was the former offensive coordinator at Colorado State and quarterbacks coach at Wisconsin.

Under OC Bill Snyder, Phil Suess had a career QBR of 116, Pete Gales low 90s and Gordon bohannon 113.

Under OC Bill Snyder, Chuck Long had a career QBR of 150.5. Chuck Hartlieb 148.5. However, Hartlieb's teammate Tom Poholsky checked in at 96.6.

It's almost as if who the quarterback is and who is playing with him had some sort of effect.

Iowa has shown consistent success with QBs named 'Chuck'.
