It sucks that we'll never know who's been approached. And, in the end, that may be Barta's saving grace. We simply won't know whether the result is a product of poor evaluation, poor salesmanship, cheapness or the fact that the position is just viewed as a hopeless coaching graveyard.

"We’re going to be looking for somebody who’s a proven leader, a winner, someone who has competed for championships"

No offense, but Gregg Marshall, Paul Hewitt, Boylan, Brian Gregory, Paul Lusk, Steve Forbes are not names that immediately come to mind when reading Barta's comment above.
