We're good, not great this year. That's ok.

Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz should have been fired the second Tyrone Tracy had to block for Max Pooper on a WR screen.

This game, and team, is exactly who Stanley is. It's not anyone else, it's him. Seems like a good guy, but isn't good enough at quarterbacking. If he was Iowa would have won. It really is that simple.

Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz is back next year as well.

And the 20 years after.

Brian doesn't have another 20 years unless he gets his weight under control.

Don't expect a win next weekend.
I still think this ends up like the 2003 team. Lost 3 games to tough or highly ranked teams and then beat down Minnesota and won out. 9-3 and win a bowl game for 10-3 and Top 15 ranking.

Iowa wins 10 games (or more) last year and 10+ this year with Stanzi/Tate/Beathard at the helm

Iowa averaged 5 ypc but couldn’t run the ball at all because they couldn’t figure out a way to hold Wisconsin under 300 yards rushing.

Brian made an adjustment, was maybe a little late but they were within 8 so can’t exactly blame him for not sticking with the game plan until they got down 2 scores.

BUT FFS. Wisconsin ran for 300 yards. There was 0 defensive adjustment and Chris Doyles boys continue to get owned by the guys from Madison. It’s time to develop bigger lineman.

Really wish Nate could’ve stopped Wisconsin from bludgeoning Iowa to the tune of 300 rushing yards.

I saw Stanzi win only 8 games and 9 games with a better team. Tate and Beathard maybe.

Ya he's on the Bielema track. Even Kirk is looking a little thicc these days, but he's still a handsome man in decent shape.

I guess cardiovascular disease or Teflon Garta getting fired is our only hope.

Hard to win any game if you give up 300 yards on the ground. Plenty of blame to go around on this one.

It fucking sucks how close they are. 7 point loss to a Top 15 team on the road. 5 point loss to a Top 10 team an 2 point loss on the road to a Top 15 team.

Beat a Top 10 or so Minnesota and win out and 9-3 is still better than most thought it would be this year. Get into something like the Citrus Bowl or Holiday Bowl an get to 10 wins and Top 15 ranking would be a good year.

Apparently you can throw the ball downfield?
College Football is extremely simple. Throw the ball down the fucking field and good things happen.

Brian is a fat retard. It has been obvious for most of Stanley's career he is excellent when the offense is uptempo and he can see the field and make throws. He is fucking terrible when you have him huddling up for 35 seconds and then having to make 20 fucking reads at the line.

They finally get in a situation where they get down 2 scores and have no choice and suddenly Nate (who had thrown for 43 yards in 3 quarters) looks like a NFL 1st round draft pick an is throwing incredible passes an making great decisions.

Phil Parker was also very poor overall in this game and Dillon Doyle is a slow moron.
This.

Stanley is a God damn idiot. Speed the game up, not let him think, and just throw the ball around. Pretty simple.

Nixon has a chance to be good, but the tackles and LBs got owned all day. Doyle has a chance but he needs to read things faster. Only 6 points with all of the short fields in the first half was a killer.

Wisconsin could have run the ball on every single play and scored a TD every single drive. Can’t really blame the D much this year, but that was tough to watch.

Kirk/Brian are so fucking stubborn. It as if there is some old school rule that every game must start out from the huddle and have the majority of the plays be running plays to mediocre players that don't work and drop back passes where Stanley is having to make too many reads and is running for his life.

Maybe trying coming out next week like you finished this week. Be honest with yourself that you really can't run and huddling is stupid and almost nobody does it anymore for a reason. Get in a tempo set and let Nate work with the best group of WR's that Iowa has ha in almost 10 years. Oh, you could also remember that LaPorta is really good and throw to him more.

Phil could also trying some different things as well, especially against Minnesota. They are going to try to go Purdue on Iowa next week and will be chucking it down field. Need to get pressure on their QB an knock him around.

The bottom line is that this is a pretty good, but not really good, team that is infinitely better than the talent the state produces.

In a way it’s disappointing but we should realize that, in another yet real way, we are lucky.

It is Iowa.

it’s also a running style Iowa matches up much better against.

Stanley looks fantastic when they go to a no-huddle and finally score a touchdown. Commentator: "Iowa probably should have been doing this much earlier."

I will say Norm used to shut Chryst down. We like to blame to the fake fucking punt, but Norm was really good against the old school offenses.

Sounds like what an Iowa State fan should say about their team.

Iowa goes up tempo, no huddle, and scores a touchdown. Next possession, with time growing even shorter, Iowa abandons the no-huddle, and everything goes to shit again.

I fucking give up.

Nate Stanley has done some great things at Iowa. We've won some memorable games, his stats have been pretty impressive, and Iowa's record has been pretty good with him at the helm. And words can't express how fucking happy I'll be when he's gone.

Positives: Tracy is legit, Goodson is good, the guards were better today. Corners are pretty good too.

I didn't realize until today Minnesota's offensive line averages 6' 6" and 340 lbs.

We're fucked.

Minny is better than the Wisconsin team that showed up today. I am also slightly worried about the IL game. I hope it’s just the sting of a loss talking.

former college linemen and people in ultra high stress careers are both known for long, healthy lives.

I think Stanley is pretty good. I think the much bigger problem is our whole offensive philosophy

Riley Moss had two picks the last time we played Minnesota. Our biggest issue will be getting pressure on the QB and moving the football consistently. These are two things we don't do very well.

I would love to see a stat on the blitz success rate.

I feel like every single blitz in the last 5 years has resulted in an OLinemen picking up a Dback under the armpits like they’re celebrating a touchdown

Stanley may make the nfl as a backup. He's got the arm and the size. he thinks too much and they need to dumb it down for him.

Our Lbs may be our worst group in a long time. I cant think of any big plays any of them have made all year

its too bad, the West is the weakest its been in a while.

need to get the ball to the playmakers more often. Goodson and Tracy and any wr not named Max Cooper.

LOL that wr screen to him.

LaPorta looks good but disappeared after the first catch

I can live with not winning the division, but not when fucking Northwestern and Minnesota are the teams that win it.
