I've seen this happen in other games. I think it goes back to how the refs enforce it. They look for the play clock to be 0 then back to the ball to see if it's been hiked before stopping the play. That essentially adds an additional second and lets the game clock expire. One of the dumber enforcements of rules in all of sports.

Did they fail to reset the clock after that reversed-call incompletion late in the 3rd? I swear there was like :55 on the clock and they stopped it at :19, ISU punts and we get it at :10. Guess in the end it hurt them tho
