I'm also going to guess we lost Tyler Brown for most if not the entire season. He's the one that was out all year until last week and today and then pulled up lame on Michigan's last TD. Anthony Hawkins likely back to starting.

My takeaways:

1. Kirk was right to insist on Brown. He’s not great (though that last throw was), but he is steady, consistent and careful with the ball. Will keep us in most games, with the likely exception of next week.

2. I think you’ve got to look at moving on from Moulton as your feature back. There was more there yesterday than he got. Personally, I’d like to see the beginning of the Braeden Jackson era. That juke cut at full speed on the kickoff was elite.

3. I don’t like so much Oertwerth. Or the TE shift changes generally. Tighten that up.

4. Lutmer looked like himself again. Buffington was good. Watson held up pretty nicely. Tyler Brown is unplayable if he can’t run better than that. DL isn’t going to win us any games, but not sure it will lose us any either.

5. Hopefully not many teams force us into so much Van Kekerix. Saw Ries out there late. Would like to see more of what he can do.

Ok, I've been the #1 Braden Jackson fan and was right as shit about him, but this is crazy talk from you guys. Moulton is tough and should bet the majority of carries. He not only can physically take the punishment, but we will need guys like him leaning on Big Ten West opponents and pummeling them.

Jackson should play a lot going forward, but calling him RB1 is nuts. No way. He's a fantastic weapon, use him like they wanted to use TJ Washington.

He must have a more significant injury than just precautionary stuff. They rotated him out a ton. I assume they went Ortwerth for blocking. Not a lot of Thomas Meyer either yesterday.

Health going to be a major factor going forward. If they can somehow split the next 2 games and get to the bye they will be in good shape.

Either way, the rest of the season going to be a white knuckle journey. This Iowa team can beat anyone and they can absolutely get beat by anyone maybe minus Purdue on the rest of the schedule.

Minnesota, Wisconsin, Northwestern and Nebrantska all as good or better than expected preseason. All of them dangerous and will likely be a dog fight. Illinois still on the road, but they suck and Purdue sucks.

As others have said today, Iowa is great at exposing you if you are undisciplined. Iowa teams are extremely disciplined and measured.

And chalk that one up to experience. He’ll undoubtedly get better at the more experience he gets and weight he puts on. The coaches have obviously decided his playmaking ability is too high to not play him, but plays like that blitz pickup are exactly the reason why upperclassmen tend to get the nod.

So I was getting ready to board a plane and YouTubeTV wasn't working and Dolph was way behind, so my entire experience yesterday was watching chat and seeing all of you explode and go crazy when the TD happened. Was fist pumping in the gate area. Spent the entire 3 hour flight watching twitter clips and reading Halo.

Watched back most of the game this morning here on the west coast, and what a Kirk Ferentz beauty.

I can't believe what a tough son of a bitch Hank Brown was in the 4th quarter. He stepped up, he took massive body shots, got up and went right back to the fight. Insane throws and the biggest one of them all, maybe a Top 5 in Iowa history. Incredible.

The summer before that year I bought like a 47 inch flatscreen TV and it was the biggest one amongst my entire friend group. We had 15 or 20 of us at the apartment that night, screaming our heads off and jumping over the couch when he ran that back.
