Didn't watch. LOL'd at the box score.
Not even sure what Beth can do at this point. If this were the NBA, you would have fired Fran after the Wisconsin loss or the UCLA loss and tried to rally the team and fans around a new voice and at least try to salvage the season and keep the players engaged for next season.
This is the NCAA though and losing to a team like Minnesota at home just ended your chances at the NCAA tournament and firing Fran now ensures that you likely lose multiple players you might want to try and salvage for the next coach. Of course, because you have no shot at the tourney even when you do fire Fran at the end of the season you are in a dead period where you can't hire your next coach because they are busy making a tourney run.
Anyways, firing him now is a bad look and hard logistically in college. I guess just let him coach out the rest of the season and hope you can come to some agreement for him to retire or move on. If not, you have to fire him. He's too old and this has gone too far down the rabbit hole for fans to just let Fran fire a couple of assistants and a strength coach and have him salvage it. He's not coaching with any real passion or fire, he looks defeated and uninterested.
Fran and his family have been through a lot the last decade, hope he just decides to retire and enjoy the rest of his life watching Jack play and enjoying the money he earned. Hand over the program with grace to the next coach and don't end this era with an ugly separation.
