The fumble by their backups backup after they drove 70 yards to the 1 yard line, consuming almost 7 minutes of game clock down 3 scores in the 4th quarter might be my favorite Nebrantska football play of all time.

It’s even better knowing he was likely stopped short on that 4th down play earlier. They brought in a supposed big bruising QB to get short yardage plays but he was stuffed twice by a freshman defensive back by Iowa.

Outside of Michigan State, and I guess Iowa State, Iowa beat the living fuck out of every team outside the CFP rankings.

Everything about it was perfection. Godfrey folded their running QB in the open field on fourth down short of the first, then got the punch out on the goal line. The entire drive itself was an exercise in quiet quitting by Rhule, whose only goal at that point was to minimize further embarrassment. Just beautiful in every way
