Iowa moved up to #18 in the AP this week.

Looks like scattered thunderstorms and 77 degrees, boyz. Should see at least 3 QB's play.

UNI is incredibly bad. Damn shame what’s happened to that program, who used to be a perennial contender.

the sooner they go non-scholarship, the closer we are to ISU doing the same thing.

I can't figure out how that happened.

UNI retired Kurt Warner's number yesterday I think. Surprised it took this long. Anyway, a side note.

I’d sit Kamari & lutmer.
First 30 plays all passes.
i assume lutmer’s health is why he isn’t returning punts?

because that situation currently is highly suboptimal

Hamstring issue, quite awhile on going is what I’ve been told. I’d think he’s a lock as PR if 100%

They look slightly improved over last year. Still going to get absolutely smoked by Iowa this week.

The UNI football operating budget is the same today as it was 20 years ago. They used to be near the top of their league, and now are near the bottom. There just isn’t any money.

They also used to recruit heavily from western Iowa and the Dakotas. The Dakota universities moving up to FCS made competing much harder for UNI.

Their offense has had moments that looked vaguely competent, but against bad competition. Iowa will score at will agains the UNI defense. It’s undersized and slow, even for FCS.

yep. There used to be zero D1 schools in the dakotas. Now there are four that have all passed UNI.

Also, the state waited way too long to approve reciprocal tuition. By the time it arrived, UNI was no longer a destination school for mid level MN and WI recruits (of which there are a ton)

UNI enrollment is up this year, and I think they set an out-of-state record. They’ll have some success at getting students from neighboring states, but the long delay put athletics at an economic disadvantage.

They really lost ground recruiting in the Twin Cities to the Dakota schools. Even for non-athlete kids graduating in the Twin Cities, if they're average students not going to the UofM a big chunk of them end up in the Dakotas. UNI should be much higher on their destination list. UNI is a better school and Cedar Falls seems downright cosmopolitan compared to Vermillion, Brookings or Grand Forks.

I've seen some increase in advertising but it's not where it should be.

Yeah, I think given what they've seen from Kamari this season, you don't even play him against UNI, if there's anything lingering from that injury, and do your best to figure out your #3. I hope McNeil shows them something, but use McNeil, Williams, and Jackson and figure out what you've got.

The backup RBs need a lot of work.
I don’t think they matter nearly as much as developing a consistent pass game other than Tony. Anyone they play with a pulse is going to minimize the run game. So if winning against high level teams is the goal I’d throw 50 passes on Saturday

seems obvious that Hank is a one-read qb. So this is on Lester, not the qb.

It’s not like Iowa would schedule interesting OOC games with a ban on FCS games.

Tim should literally tell UNI the first 30 plays are passes. They’re going to be in those situations very shortly and need to get better at it.

The only highlight of Iowa at Miami was Nick Bell running over a defensive player.

Score was 24-7.
there was an article in the paper pointing out how we had no chance to match their speed and my dad hung it on fridge with that part highlighted.

I remember suggesting that no amount of strength and agility training would change my skin color.
