I get it, but even if they had made those two plays, they weren't particularly impressive- particularly against NU.

The Purdue game was a little different, they just didn't finish/made shitty mistakes at key moments.

Point is, you don't need to be irrational to think this season is going to be a struggle.

They just don’t know where the team is mentally. They’d like to think they’re in a good spot but all the shit that came out it became obvious they really have no idea what their players are thinking.

I thought there would be more situations like the one at Iowa in other programs. It really didn't happen, so maybe there is more to it than we think? In any case, a team with the type of problems Iowa has right now is going to have an uphill battle this season.

Every game, the announcing crew is going to spend 3-5 minutes rehashing the entire timeline. 95% of out of state recruits aren’t going to spend the time to investigate and determine that most of the bias claims were bull shit. The program, and by proxy Kirk, has been branded as racist. Given the current environment, Iowa becomes the easiest school in America to recruit against.

Yeah. This is the best argument for moving on from Kirk. I don’t even think it’s Kirk’s fault, but perception becomes reality, and I don’t see any way the current staff can overcome the perception.
