The guy I wish they could've found a way to hire was Jim Rose, who as I recall filled in on basketball (possibly at a holiday event) for a while Zabel was doing football. Rose was terrific. I think he's with ABC in Chicago now.

I'm not disagreeing that the NET rankings will be a factor in determining who is in/out or seeds for the NCAA Tournament, but with this being the first year of this new rankings, I want to see at least one year's worth evidence from the committee to see how much/less they use these rankings when making their selections.

Thanks to Michigan beating Maryland, @ MD, Iowa is still right there in the running for the 5 seed in the BTT - even the 4, if somehow win out in Madison and Lincoln - after this past shit-tastic week.

Oops. Maybe pump the breaks. Using the conference tournament generator, even if Wisconsin loses to Iowa and @ OSU, Maryland loses at home to Minnesota and Iowa wins @ WIS and Nebrantska so that all 3 teams finish up 12-8; Iowa loses the tiebreakers and ends up 6th.

So, looks like Iowa is pretty much locked into this spot. If they lose out and OSU wins out, still 6th. If both finish 10-10, Hawks would have tiebreaker of record vs Michigan.

Disregard the idiocy of the last post. Iowa pretty much sealed their landing spot (BTT-wise) by not showing up yesterday.

EDIT: Root hard against Minnesota this week. If by some chance that they win their final 2, OSU wins out, and Hawks lose out... Iowa ends up the 8-seed by losing tiebreakers between a 3-team tie of IA-MIN-OSU. Iowa would be the 7 if they end up tied with Minny.

Instead of worrying about you know, basketball, the last week and a half has been focused on everything but that.

Dolph is referring to a black player as a fictional ape, Learfield Sports and I guess Garta create a non-story and suspend him, the media goes wild floating every weird conspiracy theory possible, they have a shitty loss in a game they were supposed to lose anyway and the McCaffery's lose their mind, random media hears it and tweets it out to the world, Fran gets suspended, Garta has to have dual press conferences for a suspended play by play guy and a suspended coach, a certified retard is left to coach the team and they shit a brick collectively against a rapey fucking team.

Now we have the fans completely freaking out and Morehouse and other media stirring the pot about a total collapse.

Such a fucking shit program all around sometimes.
