Losing as a 3 seed to a 14 seed kind of takes the shine off of a season.
Coin flip came up tails, what can you do?Losing as a 3 seed to a 14 seed kind of takes the shine off of a season.
He was garbage. Is it not ok to like that team and think Horner was just ok?
Watching the lead dwindle from the score bug in the top right corner was somewhat frustrating.Coin flip came up tails, what can you do?
What sucks about that game, outside of the obvious, is that I have no idea how they blew that lead. They cut away in both the first and the second halves.
You’re garbage.He was garbage.
Who wins between that 05/06 team and this year's team?I really liked Henderson, Brunner, Haluska, Thomas and ERock. That team had some athletes.
Wait for it.Who wins between that 05/06 team and this year's team?
That team was absolutely more athletic, and had some decent scoring options. I think this years team could more reliably score so I would probably take them. It makes me kind of wish Fran coached that team.Who wins between that 05/06 team and this year's team?
I was in college then and working retail. I saw part of the first half on my break, then watched a bunch of dejected looking people come into our store at the Coral Ridge Mall. What sucks about that game, outside of the obvious, is that I have no idea how they blew that lead. A special kind of hell.I was in college then and working retail. I saw part of the first half on my break, then watched a bunch of dejected looking people come into our store at the Coral Ridge Mall.
Yea, the 05/06 team was also better defensively but I don't know if they could have kept up with this year's team. Plus Garza would be nearly unstoppable by that team. That team was absolutely more athletic, and had some decent scoring options. Of course. Pretty much how I feel. He was solid, not great. Kind of whiny at times. Strat was just weird/dumb about it.Is it not ok to like that team and think Horner was just ok?
#1 on defense though. Hansen was an eraser.I think this team was definitely better. That team ended up a 3 seed but that was a surprise even on that day. They went into that weekend as a 5, 4 on the very high end. From mid-December on they had 4 weeks where they were unranked. Peaked at 18 in February, were 20th going to the BTT and ended at 15 after that.
They played great defense but most games were a slog. They went thru crazy droughts consistently. Didn’t shoot well overall and tired it over a bunch like all of his teams. They were 154 in offense that year which is nuts.
Mike Henderson.Without looking it up, I'm trying to think of the bench guys.
Thomas, Thompson, Freeman maybe.
Thomas was about the perfect backup to Hansen, but pretty thin off the bench elsewhere.
Didn’t he start?Mike Henderson.
I thought he started.Mike Henderson.
Yeah, I think you’re right.Didn’t he start?
Carlton Reed was off the bench I thought.Didn’t he start?
He barely played. Thomas, Thompson and Freeman were the main bench guys.Carlton Reed was off the bench I thought.
Beat the first place team twice. Once during the season then in the tournament. But the Big Ten was down.06 team was undefeated at home. 2nd by one game in the regular season. Won conference tournament.
More accomplished, but not as good.
That Indiana game where Justin Johnson scored a million points in the last two minutes was fun.Cyrus Tate and Justin Johnson are my favorite completely forgettable players.
Were rated the #1 conference by RPI on Selection Sunday. (Saw the graphic CBS put up while watching highlights of the championship game against Ohio State)Beat the first place team twice. Once during the season then in the tournament. But the Big Ten was down.
Well, maybe I stand corrected, but the RPI is garbage. Were rated the #1 conference by RPI on Selection Sunday. (Saw the graphic CBS put up while watching highlights of the championship game against Ohio State)
I actually like this.Probably already posted

Was ranked 4th in KenPom but the top 4 were all pretty close. It wasn’t super strong overall in that mid 2000’s era.Well, maybe I stand corrected, but the RPI is garbage.
there’s no way...right?There is zero chance he didn't try.
stop it. We aren’t a fucking mediocre program to anyone except dipshits who DEMAND EXCELLENCE and want the players to TRY HARDER and Fran to GET SOME ATHLETES.Arguing which of these two Iowa teams was better pretty much sums up the extreme mediocrity of the program. I'm sad for us.
Do you say this because you believe it, or are you doing a bit?stop it. We aren’t a fucking mediocre program to anyone except dipshits who DEMAND EXCELLENCE and want the players to TRY HARDER and Fran to GET SOME ATHLETES.
do you actually look at other high major programs around the country?Do you say this because you believe it, or are you doing a bit?
There is a pretty big difference between wanting Fran fired and simply accepting reality. Post Raveling recruits, Iowa is mediocre as all get out.
