I think he is the first of the ex-Iowa'ers to commit.

Probably more commitments than carries next year.

An offseason football thread before the bowl game seems a bit premature
The portal opens next week, Yog. It will close before the bowl game.

Michigan makes no sense since they’re paying $12 million for a QB already.

Don't really want. Physically limited game manager. Not a great fit for our skill position talent. However, Kirk's dream, probably. Hopefully not Tim's.

Seems like there's a high probability of Iowa sucking next year regardless so I don't know if a one-year low-ceiling transfer QB makes much sense.

His family is rich af. Hopefully that means that he doesn’t need to be paid

A QB that can't make it work with Lincoln Riley should probably see if Enterprise is hiring.

Lincoln knows quarterbacking. I trust him infinitely more than Kirk.

Iowa legitimately needs to start poaching from the non-P5/D2 schools. There are some incredibly gifted athletes that slip through every year and end up at places like Arkansas State
Basically do exactly what Indiana did.

Those programs are littered with kids that were often either raw athletes that were overlooked coming out of HS…or kids that were highly recruited but got beat out at bigger schools.

The whole position needs an overhaul. What do we know about Resar?

Colton Joseph ODU
Gio Lopez South Alabama
Devon Dampier New Mexico
Caden Veltkamp West Kentucky
Owen McCown UTSA

Could probably find a good QB if they wanted

Ironically, if you didn’t know the history, there is a good chance you would have added:

Spencer Petras, Utah State

to the list.

He can improve, and at least has an arm to get the ball down the field. I also believe Lester is the best OC he has had

Blair and Kakert seem to be giving Moss more than just the ordinary transfer-who-listed-Iowa-as-a-possibility attention, fwiw.

Fuck that dude. Go with Sullivan and develop Stratton. Keep the fat kid as 3rd stringer. We can't even get through an off season of development without bringing in another cast off that Kirk is going to have some weird obligation to?

Why doesn’t he feel the same obligation to Sullivan? Hates the tats?

I think the reality is that Sullivan and Stratton are both shitty. They are fine enough to be a backup and emergency backup, but over a 12 game season it just isn't going to work out. We aren't talking about it today because Iowa won a historically goofy game, but Stratton was fucking atrocious against Nebrantska. If he even has the remote shot to be the starter in 2025, then Iowa is fucked. Sullivan was atrocious against UCLA and then he got hurt, which he is prone to do as a running QB.

Iowa should still be aggressively pursuing talented QB's out of the portal, but they just need to learn from Cade to not bring in guys with multiple devastating injuries and don't crown them the champ before they have had a single practice.
