Well he already stole a recruit that the following schools wanted:

Purdue
UCONN
Kansas
Bama

Omg but he’s a cracker!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh noooooo!
Correct.

He’d fit in well with those rosters which also have some non-crackers.

Man, I wish McCollum would have kept Dembele. Would have raised the melanin average for the team and impacted our NET rating!!!!!

I don’t think this roster is that bad. Sure much of it is Drake players but Stirtz is a stud and the others guys seem more than capable.

I expect non Drake players Folguerias and Hausen to contribute along with a healthy Koch who was a good recruit.

the two highly ranked kids he got committed seem like good fits as well. I’m happy with what is going on

I’m not. Because your point is complete bullshit and false.
Yeah, I have a long history of being wrong here when it comes to realistic expectations.

It’s last years Drake roster with Koch, Fulgeras and Hausen. They won’t be great, but they won’t be complete trash either.

He’s the one who pretty much recreated a MVC roster and I’m the dick for pointing it out?

Some of you fuckers hate honesty.
I mean, you need to be fully honest then. His MVC roster lost 3 games, made the NCAA Tourney, kicked the shit out of Missouri and gave Texas Tech a run. His team this year is better (on paper) than that one.

What's the problem for now?

So you’re agreeing that it looks like a team that could make some noise in the MVC.

I know I’m always the board optimist but I do think McCollum is the right guy, he probably doesn’t ever go on vacations

Man, I wish we had some more black dudes that can’t play. Our layup line would look great though!!!

Yes, that’s the argument being made. Well done.

The last two recruits McCollum got would be considered big recruiting wins in Thompson and Harris.

I forget who posted on here but the places where Fran's recruiting class ended up is eye opening. No one wanted them. This years team may not be much more talented than last year, but I feel a lot better about future years with McCollum.

Especially defensively, they'll be much better coached.

Roster is middle of the pack. Coaching will get them to top 6 in the league IMO. No expectations though, of course.

I'm agreeing, based on data and historical measures, that it could make some noise in the NCAA Tourney.

I was called exactly the same prior to last season by the same fucking idiots. I’m sure you’ll come back and apologize when this one is over.
I didn’t say shit about fuck against you last year. Nice try!

That’s a very NLP-esque response from you. You spent a few posts talking about how we hired the same guy we’ve always hired and are dumb for expecting different results. Doug posts and then you give this as a response. lol.

Dude, his son is a division three player, he gave him a scholarship, and now he is getting double digit minutes in games where we should be trying to get all these new people to play together.

He can coach, but it is literally exactly what I told everyone would happen. Hence the reason his kid got as many shots last season as the 6-7 kid with a long list of high major offers. And we wonder why kids are choosing other schools? We went through the EXACT SAME THING with Connor committing as a freshman.

It doesn’t matter how good of a coach you are if you are playing slow, short, white guards.

And his dad is full of shit about his defense. He couldn’t guard a 6’ 120 lb white kid in practice last year. Nor could he do anything against actual athletes in the state championship game even though they play basketball as a fun side gig.

He’s simply trying to prepare the fans for his kid playing in games

To be fully honest, that "3 loss" Drake roster played a MVC schedule ranked as #127th hardest schedule last year vs. Iowa's that ranked as the #37th SOS.

If he actually does play double digit minutes against someone other than SW Dogshit Tech, I will agree. I tend to think this will work itself out naturally.

Landon Davis didn’t get offered by iowa because he actually quit the team over Christmas break last year and had to be talked into coming back. The reason? They were barely using him. McCollum was overly involved with the northwest program and he is blinded by his kids’ actual abilities. The best defensive player in the state who is now getting a full ride to Illinois was getting like 6 shots per game while shooting 70% from the field.

It’s not Peyton’s fault. I’ve heard nothing but good things about him. It’s always the parents who treat whatever program they’re involved with a personal development program for their kid.

if you cannot step back and take an objective approach with your offspring, don’t fucking take a leadership position with a program that a shitload of people care about. This is true at every level going down to youth sports. And Iowa cannot fucking get out of their own way.

I would hope so. Little Lick is 36 years old, and was never very good at basketball.
