You get better (i.e. black, I guess) players by paying them. You don't get NIL donations by hiring random black assistant from SEC school or black up and coming coach form the valley!. You get NIL donations by hiring a dude from Storm Lake who is a great Xs and Os guy and also likes helping Bob from Iowa Falls put away folding chairs after an I-Club event.

What McCollum has been able to throw together in a short time is truly remarkable. He has nearly all the main guys back from a team which made it to the second round of the tournament, added a conference player of the year, a very sought after 3 point shooting transfer, and a top 100 recruit who decided to reclass.

We will see if they can handle the week to week grind of the Big Ten schedule, but to me it's really hard to imagine a better scenario considering where we were 7 months ago.

Most college basketball analysts have us making the NCAA tournament. The excitement around the program is back. To greet that with with a ho hum attitude or cynicism is nothing but pure retardation.

I just want to see them try on defense. You will get a lot more fans to buy in if you at least look like you’re playing hard. The last few Fran teams had way too many games where it felt like it was over 5 minutes in. The UCLA game last year was just brutal basketball.
