Depending where you rank Cook on those 2 teams it’s a true 50/50.

The 2014 and 2015 classes were just a complete disaster that it is ultimately what was the difference between Fran being a legend at Iowa and Fran being run out of town.

Flemming had a huge early offer list, but was clear nearly all of them were smoke and mirrors and he had no actual offers by the time that Iowa got to him. Hutton was sort of the same, had an early Wisconsin offer but he was just awful at basketball. Wagner was always a football player, not a basketball player. Dale Jones and Christian Williams were both Spring reaches that blew up in their face As you said, Moss was the only one worth a shit.

2014 was the real killer though, missed out on Tyler Ulis and then tried to get Riley LaChance by offering his shitty AAU teammate Brady Ellingson and only ended up with Ellingson after LaChance chose Vanderbilt and was a pretty good PG there for 4 years and Ellingson was a fucking embarrassment. Then Fran signs a skinny German kid that could barely play basketball named Dom Uhl that Fran had no idea what to do with. By his senior year, he is such a disaster that Fran tried to run him out but he wouldn't leave so he spends the year smiling on the bench and enjoying his full scholarship. Oh, and let's not forget the 3rd signing, a complete spaz named Trigger Trey Dickerson as the last desperate attempt to make up for missing on Tyler Ulis. He lasted a whole semester before being sent on his way to his 5th school.

The freak out about recruiting is super weird though because already he's landed two very highly ranked and recruited high school kids in addition to putting the best possible team on the floor he could have this year.
