She’s realizing all the tools she has that got highly related need to be used. She was just trying to get to the basket every time she touched it and would force it when it wasn’t there.

Now she’s trusting her jumper. I think, who knows.

I never understood what people thought the next step was for her. Similar to when people wanted Tyler Cook to expand his game. They’re bad free throw shooters for a reason. Their game is being more athletic than most of their opponents.

Cook had the advantage of playing alongside Garza who could shoot 3s. He struggled when asked to play next to Pemsl who couldn’t.

Stuelke is stuck playing next to posts that clog the lane. There’s a reason she thrived more playing in a 4 out offense as the center.

I mean, Stuelke's not taking a huge role on this team, but they're not asking her to take that role either.

The last two years Iowa's basically had her playing at both the 4 and the 5 at the same time, to make up for the fact that O'Grady wasn't very good and Heiden wasn't quite ready yet, and also have to serve as a primary outside shooting option last year to help backfill some of the scoring lost when Caitlin went pro.

This year, you don't really have either of those problems because you actually have two 5s with size *and* skills plus a ton of scorers at guard, so they can let Stuelke basically be a hybrid/background option knowing she can step into other roles if she has to.

(This team is pretty good already - Fairfield went to #11 UNC earlier this year and lost by the same 14-point margin - but they appear to have fixed their interior size problem with Heiden and Hays and they have a reliable shot creator in Wright. Keep Chit-Chat healthy and this group can go places.)

Heiden was ready at the start last year. I could tell watching her when she got in that she was the best post player on the team but for some reason they felt Hannah couldn’t play the 4 so she rode the pine. It was fucking stupid.

I’d have Hanna rim run on make or miss and have Heiden trail. If they don’t get anything, switch them out on a backscreen or downscreen or however you want to do it.

It seems Addie Deal is a little heavier of chest than most of the rest of the team, but her billowing matronly jersey looks kinda silly. Strap those suckers down and wear a tighter jersey.

She is a smoke show, but she shouldn't be getting the minutes she is as a player. She is a decent role player, but shouldn't be starting.

It's really not that big of a deal. She's usually the first one subbed off, and plays the right amount of time by the end of the game.

Yeah she’s not going to change the lineup. But Fuerbach is so limited offensively. In addition to not really being much of a scorer, her ball handling is below average. She’s a decent on ball defender and has a ton of experience so you have to play her.

And I think that's enough to justify her playing time with so many underclassmen on the team. She's basically playing the Gabbie Marshall role from a couple of years ago.

Don’t disagree, though she can be as erratic as any of the younger players. She always looks rushed.
