You'll have to re-do this as soon as they add another player.

Why do the minutes at each position all add up to well over 40, but not the same number over 40?

Evidently Trilly is hinting that Trey Thompson, 2026 top 100 PF, is going to reclassify to 2025 and commit to Iowa. I don't pay for Trilly, so maybe the people on hawkeyereport are overstating it.
Yes. They are correct

He just visited a few days ago. McCollum referenced them trying to get a guy to reclassify on Kakert's Dorkcast.

His name is black, but he's white as fuck by the way.

If we got an Andre Boyer, he'd be from France.

How does someone reclassify like that in the summer? Always wondered how that logistically works.

A lot of high schools are a joke and will let you graduate sort of whenever you feel like it.

My daughter has 2 of her friends (one of them her best friend) that started the year as Juniors in public school in Austin and also a guy I work with his daughter the same thing up in the Dallas area.

I don't know exactly how it works, but they somehow all decided to accelerate and were able to graduate in May a year early. 2 of these girls are still 16 years old and the other is 17. One of the 16 year old girls got a bunch of financial aid and scholarship money and is attending Montana State in a month. The other one is very smart but wants to go to Aveda Institute and then her dad will fund her own business after a few years. The last one is the daughter of a University of Texas administrator and she is going to ACC for a semester and then transferring into either Texas or Texas State.

As far as doing it in the summer, a guy I mentioned here that is my kid's friend and a Top 50 recruit next year considered doing the same thing this summer. He's got offers from a ton of schools, but he's down to Purdue, Texas (his dad played and coaches there), Virginia and Kansas and thought about going early but instead is just going to transfer to the powerhouse public school and play there for a year.

With online having taken over, it seems in both High School and College you can massively accelerate your courses and do whatever you want.

Well, a few seconds of googling gave me the answer for Texas. It looks like the legislature established a program for any high school kid to graduate early by fulfilling a few requirements....

Key Steps and Considerations:
  1. 1. Meet Graduation Requirements:
    • Credits: Earn a minimum of 22 high school credits.

    • GPA: Maintain a final GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

      • College Readiness: Achieve the 80th percentile or higher on a college readiness exam (ACT, SAT, PSAT/NMSQT, TSIA/TSIA2) or rank in the top 10% of your class.
      • STAAR EOCs: Pass the STAAR EOC exams in Algebra I, Biology, and English I or II.
      • Endorsements: Students pursuing the Distinguished Level of Achievement may need to complete specific endorsements.
      • Financial Aid: Complete the required financial aid application (FAFSA/TAFSA).
      • Mastery in Core Subjects: Demonstrate mastery in English/Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and a language other than English.
    • 2. Consider the Texas First Early High School Completion Program:
        • This program, established by Senate Bill 1888, allows public high school students who demonstrate readiness for college to graduate early.
        • Students may be eligible for a scholarship at participating Texas universities.
        • The program aims to promote efficiency in the education system and incentivize enrollment in Texas universities.

Thanks for doing the research.

Remember the last guy we had who reclassified? Was a big man. And a fan favorite.

look at minutes per game for each player on the iowa roster for last year. Or look at minutes per game for each player on literally any team in any year. they add up to over 200 minutes per game.

This is the result of DNPs, for either injuries, or in the case of scrubs, due to their scrubbiness. games not played do not factor in to the denominator used to calculate the minutes per game stat.

You realize everyone is making fun of you and it's a running joke for a decade or more about how breaking down minutes is stupid, right?

I'm skeptical of this, since blue bloods have started getting involved in his recruitment. But if Iowa could land him it's be a huge win. He looks like a stud, reminds me of Alex Karaban. Definitely not a Mulvey situation.

From today’s ticket news:

New Courtside Seating Section
New for 2025-26, a courtside riser with capacity for over 200 individuals will be installed on the south baseline of Carver-Hawkeye Arena. Primarily designated for student seating, this platform will enhance the in-game atmosphere by bringing fans close to the court in addition to providing additional floor level concession opportunities.

I was in the 9th row of the student section the year before the Hawks Nest came around. I didn't sign up to join the hawks nest because I figured it would reset my good seats that I slowly moved closer to the court every season. I figured I would be in the front 5. NOPE. Got bumped back to row 25 or so, the first row right behind the entire Hawks Nest.
I will be bitter about this until I am put 6 feet under.
