Reading that, Iowa vacates any wins McNamara played in.

Edit: If so, does Ferentz's coaching record change?

With regards to his overall win %.

Overall career (including Maine): Pre-vacation: 225–149 → .602 win % Post-vacation: 221–149 → .597 win %

The four vacated wins dropped his career winning percentage by 0.005.

It’s still above the new College Football Hall of Fame minimum of .595 (which starts with the 2027 ballot), but only by 0.002. That’s razor thin so any more losing seasons could push him below the line before he retires.

Will still easily be eligible for the Hall of Fine though.

So I see the 4 wins are vacated reducing the win total, but are they counted as losses? I ask as I don't know the rules and you didn't change the loss total.

The only change is to the 4 wins, with losses staying exactly the same. This is standard NCAA practice for ineligible competition penalties opponents keep their losses on record, but Iowa no longer gets credit for those 4 wins.

That’s why I didn’t add anything to the loss column. The vacation only hurts the win total and the resulting win percentage.

Those games are treated as if they never happened for the purpose of counting wins.

I like Kirk but his list of completely retarded decisions that have impacted the program negatively is getting pretty long.

LOL "retarded decisions" "incompetence"

Lwade was on the fire Kirk train last year until Kirk's team fucked his ilk in the patooty.

Does anyone really give a shit about this one? The only thing it hurts is Kirk's W/L record and his chances of getting into the Hall of Fame.
Kirk has done many things that have made me angry. This is something I care about 0%. If anything, the part that upsets me the most is that they actually got Cade to come here and he sucked.

I say cheat your ass off if it will get us Big Ten title or CFP playoff appearance. I don’t care if it gets vacated later, and I don’t care if KF makes the HOF or not.

The two biggest program misses over the last 20 years, were not hiring some junior high kid to manage the clock at the end of games and not hiring someone from Halo to run cheating efforts

While it’s stupid to self-report it’s stupider of the NCAA to issue a punishment like this. Great way to deter anyone from self-reporting in the future unless and the NCAA’s investigation tools are utterly toothless.

They didn't self report because they realized they did something wrong. They self reported when Cade gave an interview and talked about the tampering publicly and gave them no other option.
