I would be thrilled for their family if he gets a mid major D1 offer so him and his brother can play together

Several of those schools have more than twice the apparent player budget of Iowa and lead the country in that regard. If Daughtry is influenced at all by money, it will be hard to be competitive.

Why do you think we have had such a great shot with him this entire time? That article is from last October. He's given Iowa the time of day because they were early on him and Brad Banks and CJ Jones are in his ear to go here.

If they get him, the Elite Eight sealed it but the family connections were a huge deal.
