Have they changed the rules? When my daughter was being recruited (2014/15) you were allowed 5 "official" visits where the athletic department paid for your trip. But I don't recall there being a limit to "unofficial" visits.

I dont know what exactly the rules are, but pretty sure student athletes can take unlimited official visits and aren't restricted.

For all the things Iowa as a program lacks when it comes to the blue bloods of the world, it can never said enough that Kinnick at night, especially with a "black and gold" game, is a pretty nice "equalizer". It will never be enough to really beat out the big boys, but it has to at least leave a strong impression in the eyes of many recruits...
