This is beyond overserved, Jimmie, it is full retardation.

Off the top of my head the senior trio's better than Marble/Basabe/McCabe:

- Marble/Armstrong/Horton
- Horner/Bruner/Haluska
- Evans/Recker/Henderson
- Earl/Barnes/Lookingbill

Wasn't Haluska a junior? I swear he played the year after the NW St. heartbreaker.

#3 Ohio State is team to beat in 2013 in the I am a giant douche? Reply
Last year, only 6 Big Ten teams received votes in the final AP Poll. Ohio State finished #3 with a 12-0 record, ahead of #17 Northwestern (10-3), #24 Michigan (8-5) and Nebrantska (10-4). Penn State (27th) and Wisconsin (35th) received at least 6 votes from members of the AP.

Head Coach: Urban Meyer
(Cincinnati, 1986), 2nd year
Record at Ohio State: 12-0, 1 year
Career Record: 116-23, 11 years
Urban Meyer begins Year 2 in Columbus. He is right, the Big Ten need to step up in recruiting or at least keep the players for 4-5 years, when we reflect on Iowa's attrition with the Classes of 2008 and 2009.

Date Score Opponent Attendance
Sept.1 W, 56-10 Miami (Ohio) 105,039
Sept. 8 W, 31-16 UCF 104,745
Sept. 15 W, 35-28 California 105,232
Sept. 22 W, 29-15 UAB 105,019
Sept. 29 W, 17-16 at #20/18 Michigan State 76,705
Oct. 6 W, 63-38 #21/20 Nebrantska 106,102
Oct. 13 W, 52-49 at Indiana 48,880
Oct. 20 W, 29-22 (OT) Purdue 105,290
Oct. 27 W, 35-23 at Penn State 107,818
Nov. 3 W, 52-22 Illinois 105,311
Nov. 17 W, 21-14 (OT) at Wisconsin 80,112
Nov. 24 W, 26-21 #20/20 Michigan 105,899

Phil Steele likely will highlight the fact that Ohio State was very successful in close ball games, winning half (6 of) their games by a possession or less in 2012. Ohio State was 6-7 in 2011.

Offensive Formation: Spread
Defensive Formation: Multiple
The offense wasn't always stellar in the passing game, when they were forced to pass, but when the running game was clicking, the passing game was very efficient. The defensive front 7 only returns 1 starter, but the secondary returns 3 out of 4, so the offense will need to carry the defense some.

How will special teams be in 2013 for the Buckeyes? Corey Brown lead Big Ten in PR in Big Ten games with 13.9 yards per return and 2 TDs. Rod Smith was #3 in Big Ten games with 23.2 yards per return, but long of only 36 years in 6 games. Placekicker returns in 2013, but both punters have departed Columbus.

Kinnick Spring Fling Reply
EduneerHawk and I were fortunate to take the limo ride with the Iowa Coaches before the annual Spring Fling in CB, Iowa. As always, a great time. I will try to recap what was discussed. Eduneer and Kafter can certainly chime in.

First, let's start with Coach Speraw. Have to say he is shy at first. He will let you ask the questions and respond. If you have nothing to ask, he will not fill the space. He felt the NIT experience was priceless. Teams rarely get the opportunity to play that many games in a short time period with that kind of pressure and intensity for each game. You do not get the opportunity to experience this pressure even during the I am a giant douche season. Feels this will help next year. I sense the staff is confident they will make the Dance next year.

As for Oglesby, he said that he needs to get an "assassin's" mentality. Felt that Oglesby was so used to having more time to choose the shoot he really wanted in HS. The same is not true in college. You have a shot clock where the opportunities do not come often and require you to look to shoot first or you will miss the opportunity. Said he shoots "lights out" in practice (we have all heard this before).

Talked about how Iowa literally stole Gessell from NE in the recruiting war. Gessell was all NU but for the signing until Fran took over. Talked about how Fran out hustled Sadler and assured Gessell he would play point.

Talked about the athleticism of Olesani. Phenomel athlete who could guard the other team's PG if needed. Beats everyone else in their drills. Talked about how Olesani and Woodbury helped the team improve so much on defense. As compared to the year before when they had to rely on McCabe and White to guard the paint. He mentioned that they worked really hard last summer on defensive drills as opposed to offensive drills. It paid off.

He feels Marble needs to get more consistent and stronger to make the NBA. He has the skill set and has great size, just needs to build more bulk. Says Marble works hard every day so, the NBA would not be a pipe dream. His work ethic is what will put him over the top.

Had to talk about Jok a little. Not much different from the interview that was just published. Jok has it, Will need to adjust to the college game. Obviously they feel he can.

I did tease him about being in CB and not with the Nets. He laughed, told me his wife was quizzing him on whether he made some decisions without her input and whether they would be moving soon.

One other comment on Speraw. Hiring Speraw was a stroke of genius. The guy can flat-out coach, knows his BB. Hope he stays for awhile.

Coach Ferentz- Asked the Captain if he will find anyone that can block Big Carl. He smiled and said that was nice to see. Carl had really underperformed before this spring. He is really high on all the tackles (Cooper, Johnson, etc.). Worried about depth with his DE's. I told him I was surprised at how well the D-line played at the spring scrimmage, that his son was not happy with the O-line that afternoon. Kirk chuckled and said that getting Brian mad was probably a good thing.

He really likes all three quarterbacks and feels they will all push each other. Did not give a hint on who would start.

Did not talk too much about individual players. I asked him about Nate Meier, the kid from Tabor, Iowa, being from that part of the world. Says the kid is as tough as you will find and very athletic. However, it has been a huge ajdustment being the biggest kid on the playground in HS. I also suspect there is an adjustment academically and socially as well. Told him a story I heard about Riley Reiff in camp last year when he took it to E. Suh. Kirk said it did not surprise him one bit. Reiff has a mean streak and does not back down to anyone. Said that even with all his NFL money Reiff still drinks Busch Lite. I told him that most everyone I know from SD likes their beer cheap and cold. Miller Lite is considered high brow.

I asked him what unit improved the most this spring. He surprised me with his answer. He felt the RB's improved the most from last year. I think he is happy they are all healthy and can contribute. Next unit is the DL. He also feels that the DB's are also improving nicely.

Overall we talked about the challenges of getting kids to adjust to college life and the life of a student athlete. By far the biggest challenge. If they don't adjust, they don't play. If they don't play you can't compete. I think he was addressing the attrition from a couple years ago.

You can tell he really likes where the team is at and likes his staff. I am cautiously optimistic for next year. I know there are plenty of people wweho love to bash this guy, we are ls lucky to have him. Quality individual who wants to win. Pretty confident he will find a way this year.

Again, this is a great event for Hawkeye junkies. You cannot imagine how accessible the coaches are. the Kinnick I-Club does a great job on this event. The limo ride with the coaches is dynamite idea. If you are willing to pay a little money, you have an opportunity to sit with these coaches and talk Hawkey sports. We are so lucky our coaches are willing to attend thes functions. The same is not true in NE. One of my partners is chairman of one of the large sports charity banquets in Omaha and cannot get any of the coaches to come unless they pay the coach a stipend. They were so desparate this year the are flying Charlie McBride (retired NU asst. coach) to Omaha to give a speech.

Do you think there is some secret coaches message board somewhere? God I would love to read the corresponding thread from the coaches about riding in a limo with these dudes.

Someone else posted something similar to this on TOS a couple years ago, it started off with this line 'Had the chance to ride in a limo with Coach Ferentz this past weekend, a once in a lifetime opportunity and I feel truly blessed.'

A Cid post from today:

Pink creates a mood... didn't see the segment, but groups suggesting removal are simply promoting their own agenda and noise.

The Pink was for a mood, nothing more and nothing less. Nice to hear story used Kinnick as an example.

He's right on this one. People trumpeting that it is sexist are the ones making it sexist. They're the ones associating a color with a gender. Hayden ALWAYS said it was a psychological ploy because pink was a soothing color. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nope, he wasn't a Senior. The Iowa website is fucked.
He came out of high school at the same time as Brunner and Horner, but he transferred from ISU and redshirted a year, so he wound up leaving a year later than they did. He was really good as a senior on a team that had pretty much nothing outside he and Tyler Smith.

I'd say Horner/Brunner/Hansen is better than Marble/Basabe/McCabe too though.

Right. Freeman struggled until midway through that season and then got some confidence and had a few nice games. Henderson was awful as a senior. He was okay as a junior being just a defensive stopper and not having to do anything offensively but shoot when he was wide open and drive when there was an advantage and opening. Tate had some ability but had no idea how to play yet that season and struggled.

In Kirk we Trust: Iowa is poised to repeat history in '13! Reply
Iowa was 4-8 in '12 and a +3 jump would be a nice step forward for the 2013 season for the Hawkeyes. Last year, Iowa was competitive in most games, but awful more than not. Injuries at RB and in the offensive line didn't help. Iowa also was banged up at DE during the '12 season. Players like James Ferentz and James Morris were dinged and not 100% either.

Iowa pulled off a +3 boost with a first year QB with no snaps in 1979. The September schedule was far more difficult, than the September schedule the Hawkeyes face in 2013. Heck, the QB wasn't even taking reps at QB for 3 years, since he moved from DB, when he arrived in college.

Iowa opened the season at Kinnick vs. Indiana. The first half was all Iowa, with Iowa getting up big. But, IU held Iowa in the second half and pulled off the 30-26 victory. IU was 4-7 the year before, Iowa was 2-9. IU went on to finish a solid 8-4, which the Hoosiers haven't repeated much since.

Iowa is 8-0 vs. NIU lifetime. Iowa does have trouble under Kirk Ferentz with Michigan directional schools (Central and Western are 3-0 vs. Iowa), but Iowa has taken care of business, even with Iowa teams that struggled.
Iowa beat NIU 24-0 in KF's first season at Iowa (1999)
Iowa beat NIU 24-14 in 2006
Iowa beat NIU 16-3 in 2007
Iowa beat NIU 18-17 in 2012
Those three seasons were 4 of Iowa's most underwhelming seasons under KF. While the schedule in 2013 will be challanging, some of the conversation should be about how manageable the schedule is for the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Further, many Iowa opponents are rebuilding and retooling as well in 2013.

NIU has to rebuild the defensive line. The offensive line returns in tack, but the run defense is very suspect for the Huskies. Further, the game is at Kinnick Stadium, which should be a big boost for the young Iowa team.

Iowa should be more experienced though in 2013.

2013 ROSTER BREAKDOWN
Letterwinners Returning: 39
Offense: 19
Defense: 17
Special Teams: 3

Letterwinners Lost: 21
Offense: 11
Defense: 9
Special Teams: 1

Offensive Starters Lost (5)
WR Keenan Davis - Never really lived up to recruiting rankings. Injured as a senior in high school and just didn't excel in Big Ten.
OL James Ferentz - Undersized coach's son, who played hard, but at times, was out matched by opponents.
FB Brad Rogers - He had a special game at Michigan in '10.
OL Matt Tobin - he improved as a G/T
QB James Vandenberg - two year starter at QB

Defensive Starters Lost (3)
DL Steve Bigach - Fifth year senior
DL Joe Gaglione - Fifth year senior
DB Micah Hyde - Clearly the one player that played at a high level and will be missed.

Starting Kickers Lost (0)
None - It is always a positive to have experience in special teams. Iowa needs to elevate and take advantage of field position in 2013.

Despite the loss of 21 letterwinners on the above list, coming off a 4-8 season, Iowa's additions and returning players should fill the void for Iowa in 2013? Iowa won bowl games in 2009 and 2010, so the four and fifth year seniors clearly should have some motivation, after a lean couple of years in Iowa City.

2013 Opponents for Iowa
Aug. 31 Northern Illinois - Iowa needs to get off to strong start.
Sept. 7 Missouri State - First game ever against a Big Ten squad.
Sept. 14 at Iowa State - ISU will be coming off a bye week - good or bad?
Sept. 21 Western Michigan - Iowa is 0-2 in this series
Sept. 28 at Minnesota - Iowa is 0-2 at TBF Stadium
Oct. 5 Michigan State - Homecoming
Oct. 12 Bye Week
Oct. 19 at Ohio State - It would be great to see Iowa 6-1 at this point? However, odds aren't good?
Oct. 26 Northwestern - The series has favored the Wildcats lately, but it comes down to 5-8 plays and making them.
Nov. 2 Wisconsin - Can the series be any closer than Iowa vs. UW?
Nov. 9 at Purdue - Our Biggest Black & Gold rival in the Big Ten will be preserved in '14.
Nov. 16 Bye Week
Nov. 23 Michigan - Senior Day will be special. Enjoy because the UM, MSU, PSU and OSU series will be viewer and far between with the new 14 member league in '14.
Nov. 29 at Nebrantska - It has been 32 years, since Iowa upset Nebrantska...
Ranking the Competition in 2013 (Rankings are 2012 final AP):
at # 3 Ohio State 12-0 - The Buckeyes have had Iowa's number for decades. Iowa hasn't beat OSU in Columbus, since 1991. Though, they did play well in Columbus battling the Buckeyes in 2003 and 2009. The BYE WEEK should allow Iowa to be healthy as they compete against the best in the Big Ten. No one expects Iowa to pull off a win in 2013. OSU is getting hype as a #1 team, despite a need to rebuild the defensive line and a questionable passing game.
at # 25 Nebrantska 10-4 - Iowa has lost back to back games with the Cornhuskers, since UNL joined the conference. However, both games have been significantly lower scoring than the OOC games Fry and Ferentz faced in Lincoln in the early 1980s and in Ferentz's early years at Iowa. Progress is being made in the series and in a rivalry, or one that is working to become one... odd things can happen. Nebrantska scored 20 points in '11 and 13 points in '12. Iowa's offense could only get into the end zone once. An upset in Lincoln would be sweet. Iowa has one win in the modern era in 1981. If Iowa is improving in 2013, than a highly competitive game shouldn't be out of the question, especially if Nebrantska continues to have questions stopping the run in '13? The Cornhuskers may look to outscore opponents in 2013, with only 2 starters returning in the Front 7 for Bo Pelini. Does Nebrantska retool the Defensive Front in '13?
vs. #22 Northern Illinois 12-2 - Getting off the a good start may be the most important aspect for Iowa in 2013? The fan base is restless and a loss right out of the block could put undue pressure on a squad that is young at key positions. HOW GOOD WILL IOWA's RUN DEFENSE BE IN 2013? Key element to how well Iowa improves throughout the season.
vs. # 17 Northwestern 10-3 - The Hawkeyes pulled off a 41-31 win over the Wildcats the last time they played at Kinnick. Northwestern is clearly improved, but they need to replace 3 starters on the offensive line and 2 starters on the defensive line. The OL is more of a question. Iowa may be losing skill players the Wildcats, but Ryan Ward was a nice addition in the Class of 2012 over the Wildcats. Ryan's brother, Patrick, has departed as a 3 year starter.
vs. #24 Michigan 8-5 - Like the Wildcats, the Hawkeyes beat the Wolverines 24-16 the last time they visited Kinnick. Brady Hoke has been doing an outstanding job recruiting. The Wolverines are moving back to a pro-style offense and the running game, depth at QB and replacing 3 starters in the OL are all questions heading into 2013. Talent favors the Wolverines, but are all the parts in place for Hoke in Year 3?
vs. Michigan State 7-6 - The Spartans have been a pretty competitive series for Iowa, like Michigan and Wisconsin. The running game and defense are strengths for the Spartans, something Kirk Ferentz can respect. JR Nick Hill is the new man on campus at TB for the Spartans. The question is at QB, with senior Andrew Maxwell. A name to keep an eye on may be sophomore Connor Cook and deemed more athletic. This is a veteran team that only lost 13 letterwinners from last season, so QB may work itself out for the Spartans?
vs. Wisconson 8-6 - Look at the series, it is 42-41-2 or is it .500? Even the last time the game was played at Kinnick, the game went down the wire, with UW victorious. Iowa has been a thorn to Wisconsin, much like Ohio State has Iowa's number. Iowa leads the series 24-10-1, since 1974. From 1977 to 1996, Iowa didn't lose a game. UW has a very good running game and is strong in the lines, but QB and the secondary are questions coming into '13. New coach Gary Anderson has a challenging schedule @ Arizona State in September, @ Ohio State, vs. Northwestern, @ Illinois, bye week, then @ Iowa. Further, they play BYU in Madison the week after Iowa, so could this be a TRAP game in '13 for Badgers?
at Minnesota 6-7 - Iowa hasn't bagged a win at TCF Bank Stadium yet, so will the third visit be a charm? Jerry Kill is entering third season at helm in Minneapolis and he has enjoyed a 1-1 record vs. Iowa. Iowa's one game where Vandenberg actually shined for a moment was vs. Minnesota. It will be interesting to see how the young QBs for Iowa do at Minnesota. Iowa has better talent, but Minnesota is improving. Does Minnesota have a playmaker at WR in '13? The Gophers have an interesting schedule, they play 4 of 5 of the Legends rivals in the first half of the Big Ten schedule, then ending the Big Ten season @ MSU. The Iowa game is likely circled on the calender with back to back road trips to follow the Big Ten opener for the Gophers.
at Iowa State 6-7 -
at Purdue 6-7 - Purdue won at Iowa last year 27-24, while Iowa won last time at Purdue 31-21, so what is is store, as Purdue begins the new era under Darrell Hazell? Purdue will be coming off a string of games vs. Notre Dame, @ Wisconsin, vs. Northern Illinois, bye week, vs. Nebrantska, @ Ohio State before game with Hawkeyes. Weaknesses for the Boilermakers heading into '13: LB corp, they will implement a pro-style offense under OC John Shoop. Could be tough transition in year 1 and Iowa should benefit from some seasoning by better programs right now ahead of Iowa @ Purdue.
vs. Western Michigan 4-8 - The Broncos hired P.J. Fleck, a 32 year old head coach for '13, so the coach who beat Iowa in 2007 to close out the Iowa's regular season has departed. WMU lost at Illinois and at Minnesota last season. Iowa is 0-2 vs. WMU at Kinnick. A third loss by Kirk Ferentz wouldn't be good for the resume. Iowa will enjoy watching film on WMU, since two of the games that the Broncos play are season opener @ MSU and Week 3 game @ Northwestern, so playing Western Michigan help Iowa in more ways than not. WMU closes the season at NIU.
Missouri State 4-7 - Iowa will welcome back Terry Allen, the former UNI coach, who if memory serves me well, received a interview for the Iowa job in 1998. He is now in his 8th season at Missouri State. Missouri State has never played a Big Ten opponent before. A couple Iowans dot the roster for the Bears.
It clearly is a challenging schedule for Iowa in 2013. But, it also should keep Iowa's focus on the team in front of them. It will be interesting to see how far the Iowa coaching staff can lead this team in 2013.

Some thoughts on the upcoming season. Here's to better days for the Black & Gold!!! I want to thank Fran McCaffery and the 2013 Iowa Hawkeye Basketball team for a nice finish the year!

A Cid post from today:

Pink creates a mood... didn't see the segment, but groups suggesting removal are simply promoting their own agenda and noise.

The Pink was for a mood, nothing more and nothing less. Nice to hear story used Kinnick as an example.

Good morning Hawk Fans!
This has value as existential poetry.

Sometimes I wonder if that guy has some sort of mental disability or if he's just an awful writer.

My dad recently had my brother help him sign up for an account on a message board for owners of a particular car. This is a man who is a very successful business owner. And according to my brother, his first attempt at a post looked, well, let's say challenged.

Don't worry, my dad learned how to use email/internet and the iPad a few years ago and he sends me retarded email forwards as if he just discovered fire.

He reads posts on the Quad City Times and is astounded that people actually write opinions on the internet and thinks ESPN Streak for the Cash is the greatest thing ever invented.

This is funny shit.

My dad "watches" Yankees games on whatever the Yankees website is - where they basically do a written play-by-play with some sorta lame pitch-by-pitch graphics - and he thinks it's the cat's meow, except when it freezes up and he incredulously swears and cusses at it and whines to his wife in the hopes she'll try to fix it.

Still hasn't tested the email or message board waters, however.

My dad farms and this year he decided to get GPS...don't think I've ever heard someone cuss as much as he did this spring. John Deere set it up for him the first time (you hit like 3 buttons). He didn't realize that starting a new field would require changing the lines. He went from planting north/south to east/west. He started going down the row and hit the 'autotrac' button, and the tractor turned 90 degrees and he was so confused that he let it ride while hitting buttons forgetting to raise the planter. It was a thing of beauty. If I would not have gotten in the cab a second sooner, I'm pretty sure that computer would be sitting in a ditch along a gravel road.

June has arrived. Welcome to the Dog Days of Summer... Reply
How nice is it when the first day of a new month arrives on Saturday? Or should I say, how nice is it that the last Day of the month hits a Friday?

The Dog Days of Summer have arrived.

So, five years after the Flood of 2008, we have the Summer of 2013.

Was Parkersburg tornado in 2009?

The three years before the Flood of 2008 could have been better. The past three years could have been better.

I hope we can have a little more fun in 2013-14. So far, how is 2013 going.

Good, bad and ugly... as life generally is these days.

The 2012 football season was awful for the most part. It was ugly. However, they did have 4 wins and NIU, Michigan State and Minnesota were all bowl teams.

We get all three of them again.

IOWA will be interesting at QB. Something completely new. Kirk Ferentz was coaching high school or at a prop school the last time we saw Iowa open with a QB situation anything like 2013?

I am going to give Greg Davis the benefit of the doubt hearing into 2013. He has been in the business long enough and with enough success that he deserves such, but 2012 was awful.

It is year 2. Last year, Year 2 was good for Tim Beck, second year OC for the Nebrantska Cornhuskers, after some ups and downs his first year. Iowa has several coaches in year 2, but offensive line coach Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz is the coach I am most interested in for this anology. Like Beck, he was in Year 2 of a completely new role. Is Iowa really the #8 offensive line in the Big Ten.

The NFL drafted on Big Ten player in 2013. Yes, 2012 was a down year. Did I read only three Big Ten players in the 2014 Top 50 list?

I think 2014 is the year, not only for Iowa, but the Big Ten. If this is true, then shouldn't we sit back and be a little more patient and take a wait and see for 2013?

Iowa is better on paper, but not great. The schedule is challenging, but manageable. The coaching staff is newer, but a good mix of experience and potential? The roster, like with basketball is deeper, but not perfect.

Here's to a good Summer my Hawkeye Report neighbors. May we be safe and happy. May we llook back six months from now a little happier than not. Maybe a little like basketball, this past season.

Here's to progress in 2013-14

- hiring a baseball coach
- football season
- wrestling
- men's and women's basketball
- Gary's job as AD
- the Hawkeye sports marketing department
- Hawkeye Sports infrastructure projects
- the Flood of 2008 projects still uncompleted (ie: Hancher)

Cheers my Hawkeye Report brothers and sisters!

Not as nice as a BJ, regardless of day of month or week, imo.

In what universe is June the "dog days of summer"? I always ascribed those to the last 2-3 weeks of August when the relentless summer heat has thoroughly burned you out and you'd give anything for a 50 degree morning.

Just how good is Iowa?

Seriously, some have 12-0 Ohio State #1 heading into 2013, just 6-7 in 2011 and a play or 2 from losses in 2012 to Cal, MSU, Purdue and Indiana to name a few.

Is Iowa any good in the trenches? #8 in the Big Ten? If Iowa is going to begin to recover, the O-Line better improve.

Does Iowa have a Top 10 starting corp in the LB corp?

Can the QB trio be worse than Vandenberg's senior season?

Will the Iowa's special teams help the Hawkeyes right the ship in 2013?

Can OC Greg Davis find success above the Mason Dixon Line?

Is Phil Parker ready for Year 2 as DC similar to OC Tim Beck's sophomore campaign at UNL last fall?

One question, can Kirk Ferentz withstand another sub-.500 season?

It's interesting seeing Anthony Hitchens make pre-season all-Big Ten. Stats are nice, but is even #1 or #2 among Iowa's best LBs?

Who will be Iowa's impact player in 2013?

Who will step up as a senior? It was a popular them in 2003 and 2004. How long ago that was that, after the past couple of seasons.

Iowa should be in the bowl picture again despite the predictions of #6 in Legends Division.

Iowa will be a dangerous opponent, other than maybe at Ohio State?

Will the defense play physical in 2013, as one assistant suggested the 2012 Iowa defense was capable of?

Kirk Ferentz has provided the Good, the Bad and Ugly over the years at Iowa. 2002, 2004 and 2009 were good to fine. 2012 was awful.

2013 may not be a strong vintage, but by 2014, Iowa may be a little more interesting.

On Iowa!

peace

Iowa will likely fall off the list entering 2014? Reply
Nebrantska is not currently on the list. Though, Lindy's suggests Nebrantska's arrival in the I am a giant douche has damaged Iowa?

MAJOR BOWLs PAST 4 seasons:

Wisconsin 3
Ohio State 2
Iowa and Michigan 1

How far will the Urban renewal project go in 2013?

Could Nebrantska fall in 2013 due to defensive line and deficiencies in run defense? Bo Pelini has a lot of leadership voids to fill this season?

Lindy's: Buy or sell? Even Beliema thinks Bucky has topped out, how 'bout you?

Is probation hurting Penn State or USC? Who will fall further?

MSU finshed 2nd under Saban one season and finished 2nd one season under Dantonio. Is MSU capable of making it I am a giant douche or is 2nd as good as it gets?

Is Michigan back to normal? Not sure what that is Lindy's, but as Brady Hoke enters year 3... how good is Michigan, other than extremely good recruiting numbers?

Northwestern is bowling now, year after year now! Even won one finally, so will they compete for division title soon?

So, Iowa is damaged due to Nebrantska Lindy? Actually, one would suggest many of Iowa's problems are self inflicted. Time to sit or get off the pot Hawkeyes!

Purdue goes to bowl and fires head coach. Didn't work well for Illinois after 2011, so will Boilermakers out pace Illinois in 2013?

Twenty-five years ago in October, Indiana was the top ranked team in the Big Ten. Where are they since? Both Indiana and Minnesota haven't earned a Big Ten title, since 1967.

Everyone else, except Nebrantska, has won a Big Ten title, since the 1990 season.

Here's to an interesting 2013. Plenty of questions on the I am a giant douche landscape heading into the season.

On Iowa!
