If Chryst gets the job there will be plenty of “don’t trust KF to stay out of his way” posts
Well, as long as he stays out of his way...If Chryst gets the job there will be plenty of “don’t trust KF to stay out of his way” posts
I like to preemptively complain about complainers like @The Dad too.If Chryst gets the job there will be plenty of “don’t trust KF to stay out of his way” posts
I’d be over the moon with a Chryst hire but reserve the right to disavow this post if/when it turns into Halo Gold at a later date.I like to preemptively complain about complainers like @The Dad too.
Sounds like our guy!My roommate from grad school is a Wisconsin alum and tells me Chryst is washed up and couldn’t adapt to the evolving game. Prove him wrong, Hawks!
Grad school. Oh, nice. I was afraid it was a guy getting his Associate's Degree. My roommate from grad school is a Wisconsin alum and tells me Chryst is washed up and couldn’t adapt to the evolving game. Prove him wrong, Hawks!
My theory is that Kirk has hard and fast ideas about both that his coordinators have to operate within. It’s just that rule changes and the evolution of the game have made his offensive philosophy severely outdatedDoes Kirk only get in the way on offense, or does he do it to defense and special teams too?
KF takes heat for the offense and deservingly so. But he probably deserves more credit for having great to elite defenses for virtually his entire career at Iowa.Does Kirk only get in the way on offense, or does he do it to defense and special teams too?
Probably?KF takes heat for the offense and deservingly so. But he probably deserves more credit for having great to elite defenses for virtually his entire career at Iowa.
They actually adjusted the run game quite a bit this year, but the pass game just never worked. My theory is that Kirk has hard and fast ideas about both that his coordinators have to operate within. It’s just that rule changes and the evolution of the game have made his offensive philosophy severely outdated
I think it is more than that. It’s entirely a personnel issue.
Yeah. The OC is moronIt’s entirely a personnel issue.
he felt he had more expertise on the offensive side.
Probably. They’re getting kinda old.Do we think that an offense fearturing Brad Banks, Fred Russell, Jermelle Lewis, Dallas Clark, Mo Brown, CJ Jones, Ed Hinkel, Robert Gallery, Bruce Nelson, Eric Steinbach, Andy Lightfoot and Dave Porter with Bridawg calling plays would struggle in today's game?
Good point.Probably. They’re getting kinda old.
They probably wouldn’t exist together, which is just as much of the problem as anything.Do we think that an offense fearturing Brad Banks, Fred Russell, Jermelle Lewis, Dallas Clark, Mo Brown, CJ Jones, Ed Hinkel, Robert Gallery, Bruce Nelson, Eric Steinbach, Andy Lightfoot and Dave Porter with Bridawg calling plays would struggle in today's game?
Douche for life?Bridawg is in year 7 and the players he has recruited and developed are DFL.
Also the 2019 team had a lot of good players on offense and they were almost good.
Don’t say it three times.Douche for life?
Douche for life?
“Still going to be KFs system!!!” from people who can’t explain what that means. If Chryst gets the job there will be plenty of “don’t trust KF to stay out of his way” posts
I’d like to hear more about the hard and fast parameters he has or where the offensive philosophy is severely outdated. My theory is that Kirk has hard and fast ideas about both that his coordinators have to operate within. It’s just that rule changes and the evolution of the game have made his offensive philosophy severely outdated
I'm not sure audio recordings are yet a feature here at Hawkeyelounge.comI’d like to hear more about the hard and fast parameters he has or where the offensive philosophy is severely outdated.
Watching the PAC12 championship tonight, and you just know Grubb is looking forward to the transition from Washington to Iowa.Chryst wants the job badly.
Grubb will get the job.
if he's paid two, is he really coming to Iowa for 500k more? that's not that much more money at that scale, and there is significant risk associated with running the iowa offense.Grubb also is paid $2M per, right now. We gonna bring him in at $2.5-3 and pay Phil $500k more than that?
Especially if you end up ending it all at 1:00 pm todayIowa is a great job and he will be the leading candidate when it’s open.
which job?Iowa is a great job and he will be the leading candidate when it’s open.
the head hawkwhich job?
Yeah. 25% raises at that level are bullshit. Why bother asking?if he's paid two, is he really coming to Iowa for 500k more? that's not that much more money at that scale, and there is significant risk associated with running the iowa offense.
I only ask for 69% raises.Yeah. 25% raises at that level are bullshit. Why bother asking?
This is silly. 25% means a lot less the higher you get. That said, it’s obviously still a significant amount of money. But the risk I’m talking about is that he seems to be on a track to becoming a head coach fairly soon. There is risk in coming to Iowa. It could derail those plans if things don’t go wellYeah. 25% raises at that level are bullshit. Why bother asking?
That’s not what he said.Yeah. 25% raises at that level are bullshit. Why bother asking?
Iowa hosts Washington next season.Herky is right. There is no scenario where grubb comes to ic as OC.
Maybe $3MM gets him here but is Iowa really paying his buyout, paying him 3 and then more than doubling Phils pay? Just don't see it.Herky is right. There is no scenario where grubb comes to ic as OC.
Iowa hosts Washington next season.
