Levar would be a great move. I love that guy, he’s awesome at every job he does. I hope he’s fast tracked to head coach.

Mike Ditka went from special teams coordinator to calling offensive plays as head coach of the Bears - who won a Super Bowl.

Think about that for a second......

Good chance that Roy doesn't really know WTF he's talking about, but perhaps LeVar leaves the program and comes back some day as a head coaching candidate.

Maybe Kirk will operate as HC/OC for the next year to save us some money

I hope it is Levar. Players like him, he's loyal and " what's the downside?"

If Budmayr is getting the WRs, who is coaching QBs? They need a QB coach. I get Kirk is stubborn and is taking care of his guys first- and that's not a bad thing- but I refuse to believe after the last few years, Kirk would hire a guy without QB coaching experience.

I think they'll do a Wallace type thing with him, but hire someone else as OC.

Going to need a new ST coach too if LeVar is the OC.

Kirk is cemented to his "if we execute, it will work" mantra. Dont think that will change. If he wanted to think out of the box, he'd hire Drew Tate to coach QBs. Guessing that wont happen. Out of the box, for Kirk, would be putting chocolate syrup on his vanilla ice cream.

Let’s not act like he came up with either of those 2 plays.

So he called 2-3 successful trick plays on special teams over the course of a half decade. Certainly worthy of getting the nod as a P2 OC.
They are also consistently good.

to be a good coordinator, you have to be quick on your feet. Obviously Brian and Kirk are not skilled with those qualities. If someone is capable of making adjustments on the fly, they can be at least average as an OC. Contrary to what some will tell you, it's football, not brain surgery.

Why would Tate be outside of the box? Hiring an inexperienced coach isn't innovative in and of itself.

while I have yet to see any proof that he is even a real person, Kirk evidently loves Bud. So having him at QB/WR coach would not be the worst thing.

then have a different play caller.

Kirk LOVING him is all I need to know to know that Hawkeye fans shouldn’t want him anywhere NEAR the offense

I’m sure dumpy, pasty “Bud” - the guy most responsible for Deacon Hill being part of the Iowa program- will be wonderful at connecting with the types of WRs we desperately need. Jesus, Kirk
