Also, the search was so pathetic and uninspiring that I can’t even imagine how bad Kirk is going to be when he actually needs to retire and we need to replace him.

sure, he has apparently anointed Wallace, but Beth might totally disagree

He gave Wallace a title (and perhaps some more money/responsibility). He didn't anoint him for anything.

Yeah, I feel like this whole process is foreshadowing the entire clusterfuck coming when Kirk actually retires. Hopefully Beth can pull through with some good hires for both basketball and football in the near future.

Kirk won’t name anyone. The biggest clusterfuck would be misalignment between donors, AD and University.

I'm sure it will be slow, but it'll be fine. It's not like Kirk is making the hire now that Gary's gone.

Cade is a cripple who will never walk/play again
His backup is morbidly obese, and happens to be the worst qb in D1, with impenetrable job security
The new OC is an unaccomplished bum that no one else wanted
The WR coach is an elder abusing 32 year old gift from god who looks like he’s 52

I see great things from Iowa’s offense in 2024
Tell us how you really feel, @BillyBob

It's like most of you have never worked in a corporate structure before.

You are responsible for hiring the best candidate that reports to you. You hired that person because you believe in their ability to create a productive team to get the job done, and so on down the line. If you're a Head Coach/President and meddling in the hiring of lower level employees you've already failed somewhere along the way. Of course you have veto power, but that should only be implemented in a Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz type situation.

Any talk of Lester being a good hire or not is merely speculation at this point. As fans, we have no say in the matter and can only sit back and watch the results develop on the field. I for one, will be cheering for his success all the way.

It saddens me that I have to wait until the end of basketball season to start rumors of made up or maybe not made up inside information about what Fran plans to do. Going to be a boring 6 weeks, boyz.

You don’t have to wait

Kasper has really lit it up at Oregon
Yep, and the reason he now is going to be a lock to Iowa. He's good friends with Proctor and X, so they've been working him for weeks to join them. He would have already if the portal hadn't closed, so has to wait until the spring.

Keep an eye on Ohio State receivers Kojo Antwi and especially freshman Carnell Tate from Chicago. Both are close with Kaleb Brown and are rumored to be interested in transferring in the spring if they don't work their way up the depth chart. Iowa provides instant playing time for both.

That is one thing that IOWA can offer, pretty much starting time for any WR and QB eventually.

Lester at least has Skyy Moore, D’Wayne Eskridge and Jayden Reed as examples to help sell WR recruits.

I don’t see Tate leaving. I’m pretty sure he’s in line to start. He played as a true freshman and I think he started in the cotton bowl when Harrison Jr and Fleming didn’t play

I thought that to, but supposedly he's fallen down behind a couple others during bowl prep. It all comes down to Spring ball, but pretty sure he could be at Iowa. Kaleb has been in his ear all winter.

Tate and his 264 yards this season would have been second on Iowa behind Erick All. That’s so fucking sad

Lolololololololololololol. And people want to lump Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz in with the other offensive coordinators under Kirk.

Played in 7 games and averaged 3 catches and 42 yards.
