Petras is a guy they somehow identified, recruited, shut down competition early for, and called 50+ passes in his second start. I angered people at TOS in summer 2020 when I relayed a golf course conversation my son had with his friend's b-i-l, who was an assistant on the ISU scouting staff. He told Little Chip that he wouldn't believe how bad Spence would be, that the ISU staff was incredulous that Iowa was going to be starting him. He said he had a strong arm, but no touch and accuracy, and that his pocket presence would be really awful. The responses were "tell your son to be more selective about who he plays golf with, etc". The guy's picture did scream LATFG, but he sure wasn't wrong.
