I remember claims the new OC would bring a QB with him. Welp.Does he know any WR or QB that would transfer?

Wouldn’t he have recruited college players 2 years ago?I remember claims the new OC would bring a QB with him. Welp.
You expect a guy coaching in the NFL this past year and then by all accord heading to be the OC at Troy has a QB in his pocket that moves the needle at Iowa?Wouldn’t he have recruited college players 2 years ago?
Sort of. He called two minute drives or something.Did he call plays at WMU at least?
I'm trying to talk myself into this but his resume does seem a little more progressive than Johns who bounced around a lot at the same level.
My concern is how much experience does he have in play calling etc.
we’re in luck! it’s coach Bud, the heavenly giftFrom 2018-2022
A lot of the talk about his Syracuse tenure is pretty overblown too. He didn't take over until mid-October, had pretty shit pieces to work with, and then increased their PPG by 10 full points in his first full season before Babers came in and installed his own staff.
It's a very B-grade hire that has the potential to be affected by whoever comes in as WR coach.
Lol. Holy shit. The legacy of Kirk continues its downfall
at least he ignored it in making this uninspired choice?Wins per game as a coordinator. Jesus Christ.
Yeah, I am disappointed, but that last season they were hit by the portal pretty hard. His offenses as a head coach were pretty good. But also
Well we have:IF we implement these concepts, much more on board with this hire.
Not good.3 months for this asshole
Wtf does that even meanWins per game as a coordinator. Jesus Christ.

Knock it off.Wasn't this the guy that went the entire season without changing up the cadence?
You can run RPOs without particularly mobile QBs.Well we have:
1 QB who can P but not R.
1 QB who can R but not P
1 QB who can neither R nor P
So an RPO seems unlikely
what if it had just been a very large OC?That would be too small of a QB, imho
RPO doesn't mean the QB passes or runs. He makes a read and gives it to the back.Well we have:
1 QB who can P but not R.
1 QB who can R but not P

So an RPO seems unlikely
Yet predictable.Sad.
Eat shit.Chryst wants the job badly.
Grubb will get the job.
Perhaps the negative Nellie’s were correct about the national perception of Iowa/Kirk after allIt’s absolutely amazing it look over 3 months to muster up this hire.
This is the point that all the “you were going to complain no matter what” crowd seems to be too dumb to understand. Kirk took all this time to finally hire a guy that wasn’t in the role currently, with a decent history that you can clearly point to.Would have been nice to hire a guy with, you know, a clear history of success instead of a guy we have to talk ourselves into maybe be okay.
Kevin Johns will be officially announced as our offensive coordinator tomorrow, likely in the afternoon.
The nightmare is almost over fellas.
My source is top notch.
Fuck you for getting my hopes up.well at least I haven't been banned yet. I reached out and she told me stalled in HR
It makes it pretty obvious that Kirk had no intention of getting rid of his tremendous failure at OC in the offseason if left to his own decisionWhat an underwhelming hire. I can't get over how shitty this process was
Really makes ya think
I imagine the fact Lester hired Johns played a roleYou had a guy in Kevin Johns who had extensive experience designing and calling offenses at a P5 level. And, he was successful at many places that were hard to recruit and lacked resources. Johns also had extensive experience in the Big Ten which would have been nice. Instead, we get this Western Michigan cast-off. Nice.
