There will be no scheme change. Why in the world is this even being discussed. It’s not changing until Kirk leaves. Period

Wow all this time i thought the "moon family" stuff was a not so subtle dig at the cult of personality kurt has enconsced himself within. Turns out its not a dig at all and is an official title.

Is it too late for me to transition (LOL) from actuary to football analyst?

They do advance scouting and it’s a place to park young guys or buyout guys without using an NCAA limited slot.

If you’re genuinely asking, advance scouting is basically working ahead and outside of the immediate opponent to streamline and simplify. If you’re playing Detroit this week, it’s breaking down and charting what Arizona has been doing so their on-field staff isn’t starting from ground zero on Monday morning of that week. And then continuing to work ahead and/or going back beyond the most 4 recent games which is what most tendencies are based on. Also some around the trends on how things are being exploited so you have counters.

In his case as an offensive guy who was working with the defense, it’s also putting together the scout offense and being able to install it from that point of view. For people worried that he wasn’t involved directly in the GB offense, one benefit is that he probably gathered some elements from various offenses that he might want to add as tweaks to his existing views.

EDIT: This was all about Lester and his role in GB, not Budmayr.

Is there going to be a reception for Coach Lester and his family? We should make them feel welcome here, esp. since 79% don't think he's going to succeed.

After letting it settle in I'm coming around to the hire. Not because I think it was a smart calculated move or because Lester is an exceptional OC. Simply because Lester is not Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz and he understands modern football.

Throughout this process I said the hire doesn't need to be a hot name, just someone who's competent as a play caller and understands the need to modernize the overall scheme. I think Lester is that.

For this Iowa team to take a big step forward (and to appear as a massive step forward) they just need to get to average. The big question mark is if Kirk can get out of Lesters way.

that’s the issue. A dude likely on the way to Troy probably doesn’t mind doing whatever Kirk tell him to do for $1.1M

The more I watch film, the more I like the hire. Lester loves getting skill players open in space and uses a decent amount of RPO bullshit while still being a ground-and-pound kind of guy. We'll see if Ferentz gives him the keys or not.

Also, it could be worse - Wisconsin just hired fucking Alex Grinch to be their co-DC, a move which would have almost certainly caused actual VEISHEA-burning-dumpster riots if done in Iowa City.

The focus of the press conference questions better be how much autonomy Lester will have and if Kirk will allow changes to the scheme.

There's no bigger dickless pussy thin skinned move on earth than blocking someone on HALO. Except for calling attention to blocking someone on HALO. That's an all time babydick chickenshit move.
