I want the season to happen because a 10 game conference season with no non con is different. I doubt there are going o be bowls so I would have preferred adding Michigan over Maryland.

Depends on what you’re trying to find. I hear constant complaints about the panic and impending death, but very little of the panic itself (which is obviously happening but I’d barely hear it if it weren’t for those complaining about it).
do you have social media?

Should have just let everything burn through in April and May
We could have and should have played the conference and NCAA basketball tournaments. We would also have a data set that proves its safe for kids to play sports this school year.

it would have been a ballsy decision but we live in a time where organizational leadership at all types of entities has to be constantly worried about social media driven PR disasters. Because we need outrage.

If your shitty restaurants and bars stayed closed and not contributed to the increase in cases, maybe we wouldn't have as much worry going into the fall if we had say half the cases right now.
So cut back testing.

I noticed he wrote 6 total articles in July. What in the ever loving fuck does he do with his time? How does his employer not require like an article per day out of him?

Also, fuck Charles! I'm going to head over to that shitty (in reality actually very good) mexican restaurant and sit there and eat chips and queso and post on Halo.
I'm glad you'll be thinking of me while eating melted velveta mixed with previously frozen (not FRESH) peppers.

This isn't some fucking midwest fuck around joint, this place has world renowned queso. Get your shit together.

You’re eating bad queso. Is that what this is all about? Who’s your queso guy?
He's going to Big Ten Taco's for his queso, which likely has some Staats and Koppe goo in it.

Jesus christ you guys are dumb. Yes I know that good queso isn't melted velveeta. I was poking fun at Doug and his shitty Mexican restaurant using the least fresh food possible.

Of course. Because it was the correct call from the beginning and I haven’t changed my stance.

I don’t blame anyone for making the decision to cancel other than the current social environment, though. We are all victims of- and the cause of- this stupid social media reaction-driven decision making environment.

The next super fucking annoying thing, even when there is a vaccine or multiple vaccines released by the end of the year, is going to be the same fucking morons on both side going crazy now that will move on to IS IT SAFE?? or IS IT A BILL GATES CONSPIRACY??

The people frightened that want to lock everything down and not send kids to school will be the first to worry about the safety and reliability of the vaccine. The fuck wearing a mask this is all a conspiracy retards will all refuse to take the vaccine because it obviously is a tracking program for Bill Gates against Qanon.

I hope the normal people in the middle riot and beat the absolute fuck out of both of these sides.
This is why I continue to believe that finding a good therapeutic treatment (whether it's an antiviral or something else) is probably going to get us back to normal much quicker than a vaccine. Same net result, but not even close to the same pushback. People get sick and they want to go to a doctor and take some meds to get better. You're not dealing with a healthy person, possibly wearing a tinfoil hat, and asking them to get vaccinated for the sake of keeping everybody collectively healthy.

Where would things have been at if we did actually proceed with life as normal and let this burn through in March/April/May?

I'm guessing that the death and overwhelming of the health care would have been somewhat devastating. Something awful like 500k dead? 1m? 2m?

Would we have basically been finished with the virus by end of May?
No. You would end up with higher death rates and more spread, but there would be enough change in human behavior to arrest the spread, then start it up in waves. Similar to 1918, but without a guarantee that a less horrific strain would become dominant.

(turns out, people in general are risk averse to contracting a potentially horrible if not lethal disease just to go to Perkins)

Honestly, I think we're already there, aren't we? When 75% of your Covid deaths are from nursing homes & 85-90% are over the age of 75, with significant comorbidities...I think our treatments are just fine. Again, Minnesota has 400 non-nursing home deaths...Iowa has about 300.
