By all advance indications, I think the best case for Spencer probably is a couple really good games, 1-2 real turds, and the rest perfectly mediocre. That’s likely good enough for 9-10 wins (losses to Wisconsin and OSU, maybe Michigan). But I don’t think the best case is the most likely scenario. The defense is probably good enough to get us to 7-8 wins even if he is considerably worse.

You know what would be great? If Petras played really well this season. I mean, he's not going to. But what if he threw for 3k yards and maybe 20 or so tds with maybe 8 picks. And then by some miracle an NFL team drafted him. It's not gonna happen because he sucks, but what if? LOL Halo would implode! All the dudes who have wished for his death would be so wrong! Like the most wrong anyone has ever been ever on Halo. The level of wrong that could be brought up for 15- 20 years anytime you're arguing with someone. "Oh yeah, well you said Spencer Petras was the worst QB in college football history! I mean, you got really personal about how bad he sucked! So you don't know shit!" You could even bring it up in threads that have nothing to do with football. Nah, scratch that. Only a complete fucking dick would do that. But anyway, there'd be so much Halo gold to mine. It would never happen, but it would be funny if it did.
I don't think you can improve by coaching, awareness or field vision enough to make Spence even an average qb. What's alarming is the coaches havent been able to teach him to step up into the pocket, instead of shuffling sideways slower then Sambud does when he gets his morning paper

The athletic limitations are grievous and are the thing that you really have no hope to fix. I really wish the staff would open its mind in QB recruiting and PT decisions. Not clear to me what was so unpleasant for them about the Brad Banks or Drew Tate experiences that they are so dead set against repeating them.

I was looking at the schedule and noticed the first game is "Celebrating 50 years of Iowa women's athletics." Why are they doing this and what dumbfuck cheesy thing are they going to do to celebrate it?

1. For the same reason the NFL does that dumbass pink shoe/glove month.
2. Because no one attends the appropriate place to actually celebrate it: women's athletic events.

Well, considering Christine Grant passed away in the offseason, it makes a lot of sense to honor her and her role at Iowa in the largest setting possible. So my guess is it'll revolve around her.

A real Iowa grad would know that.

I'm not that familiar with defenders in the rest of the conference, but I can nearly guarantee Iowa will have at least one DL that deserves to be at least 3rd team all B10.

Agreed. He certainly looked like shit against Iowa last year. No way he deserves to be 2nd team ahead of Purdue's QB.
TBF every QB played like shit against that defense

Riley Moss at #19. Monte Pottebaum at #52. Shocked Campbell or Van Ness didn't make the list.

So it sounds like Iowa's offense might be a little less explosive this year?
