It’s fashionable to say kids nowadays are soft.
well, you certainly don’t want to be the one that says kids are hard. It’s fashionable to say kids nowadays are soft.
I mean I don’t but it probably sucks for the guys on the team who don’t suck.MIKEY DEMANDS ACCOUNTABILITY
Like complaining abt transfers. That sounds like something somebody soft would say.
I can’t remember the last football game I missed before last Saturday against OSU. It was a good day. I’ll probably watch if they start Padilla even though that won’t really fix the problem. You’ll watch.
That’s a double edge sword because they also win nowhere near the level of those other 5 teams.Sure, but I think you’re misrepresenting that by a bit. It’s called developmental, and it has the 5th most nfl guys or whatever because they average the lowest in recruiting among those top 5 teams. Iowa doesn’t and won’t recruit at the same level as the other teams that put guys in the nfl, yet there iowa is, near the top. That’s development, and iowa is excellent at it.
I don’t know about high level athletes specifically, and I hope they’re more in control of their lives. But young people in general are softer and struggle with conflicting thoughts, to the point they kill themselves at higher rates than ever before. It’s fashionable to say kids nowadays are soft.
Absolutely! And I think that’s the choice we’re making as iowa fans. Iowa won’t be a consistent national title contender, ever. The demographics are too stacked. Maybe someday one day, sure. So what IS success? As an Iowa fan I think nfl placement is a fantastic measure. That’s a double edge sword because they also win nowhere near the level of those other 5 teams.
So they’re good at developing talent but not great at using it to win games. Which I suppose is fine if you’re primarily rooting for your team to put a lot of guys in the NFL.
assuming we have guys who don’t suck seems like a huge leapI mean I don’t but it probably sucks for the guys on the team who don’t suck.
They may still be retards and play Petras, but you're wasting your time looking at the depth chart. Depth charts reflect the last game, not the next game. For example, Nwankpa was running with the 2s in pregame at OSU and now he's in the depth chart. Can’t believe they said Petras OR Padilla. They couldn’t even commit to giving Padilla a start after bringing him on last week.
Everyone knows something needs to change. But, it won’t.
Is that the official statement? If it is, that’s some serious pussy shit. Also suggests that they’re not turning over all of the first team reps to Padilla which seems insane. Can’t believe they said Petras OR Padilla. They couldn’t even commit to giving Padilla a start after bringing him on last week.

Eh, half true. A lot of time they'll reflect injuries. They may still be retards and play Petras, but you're wasting your time looking at the depth chart. That’s not completely true. Iowa hasn’t won consistently at that level, but you wouldn’t expect that. They have had a few years like 2002, 2009 and 2015 where it paid off and they won above their level. That’s a double edge sword because they also win nowhere near the level of those other 5 teams.
So they’re good at developing talent but not great at using it to win games. Which I suppose is fine if you’re primarily rooting for your team to put a lot of guys in the NFL.
Bullshit.. They were 15 seconds from glory and they win more games than almost everyone the last 7 years. That’s a double edge sword because they also win nowhere near the level of those other 5 teams.
So they’re good at developing talent but not great at using it to win games. Which I suppose is fine if you’re primarily rooting for your team to put a lot of guys in the NFL.
Yes Iowa needs to change the quarterback but needs to do so much moreSo don't bring in anyone on defense.
Clean house on offense.
LOL that's all Halo has ever doneI can’t imagine rooting against Iowa
very realIs that the official statement? If it is, that’s some serious pussy shit. Also suggests that they’re not turning over all of the first team reps to Padilla which seems insane.
I think NFL placement is a horrible measure. I do not care at all about how many players get drafted and it’s not relevant to watching an Iowa game on a college football Saturday. Never once have the Hawkeyes lost and I’ve consoled myself with the likelihood some of the players will he drafted. Also once former Hawkeyes get to the NFL, unless they play for the Raiders, they are dead to me.Absolutely! And I think that’s the choice we’re making as iowa fans. Maybe for you. People choose all sorts of things for how they measure success. Some in national titles, some 9 wins or more, some division titles, some conference titles, some playoff appearances, some a combination of above with nfl placement. If you’re unable to understand that…I got nothing, it’s a pretty simple thing to understand.I think NFL placement is a horrible measure. If anything the amount of players drafted irritates me that we aren’t better.
If we go 6-6 but have 5 future NFL players in the team,we have succeeded at the level of a six win team. Future draft picks do not retroactively make the team more successful
That’s the Wisconsin ParadoxThat’s a double edge sword because they also win nowhere near the level of those other 5 teams.

I’ve given up on plumb, dejong, and pretty much colby, but still have some hope for Jones, elsbury, richman, stephens and that red head HaMo likes that for some reason is no longer on the depth chartThat OL is just so bad. They can practice every minute of their lives together and they’ll never get to even decent.
Right, for me. ObviouslyMaybe for you. People choose all sorts of things for how they measure success. this, this, thisIf anything the amount of players drafted irritates me that we aren’t better.

I think Richman & Stephens are really badI’ve given up on plumb, dejong, and pretty much colby, but still have some hope for Jones, elsbury, richman, stephens and that red head HaMo likes that for some reason is no longer on the depth chart
Hopefully Padilla goes to practices and film sessions this weekvery real
Colby is a true sophomore. He might not be an RT but IF KP comes, you could see him moving inside next year and being effective. Pick up a transfer guard and have Jones figure out how to snap the ball and they could be pretty good.I’ve given up on plumb, dejong, and pretty much colby, but still have some hope for Jones, elsbury, richman, stephens and that red head HaMo likes that for some reason is no longer on the depth chart
hopefully the coaches finally realize that Spencer Petras is the least athletic and effective QB in college football even if he doesn’tHopefully Padilla goes to practices and film sessions this week
This is one of those things where if it hasn't happened by now, not sure how it happens in the future. The snap issues are unconscionable.Colby is a true sophomore. QB and WR on the other hand, woof.
He was on defense until this year. This is one of those things where if it hasn't happened by now, not sure how it happens in the future. The snap issues are unconscionable.

I'm pretty much with you on this.I’ve given up on plumb, dejong, and pretty much colby, but still have some hope for Jones, elsbury, richman, stephens and that red head HaMo likes that for some reason is no longer on the depth chart
Understood, but he's snapped the ball thousands of times by now. How many does it take?He was on defense until this year.
This. It’s over, get him off the fieldUnderstood, but he's snapped the ball thousands of times by now. How many does it take?
Thanks SoGus

It doesn't suggest anything, you're all dumb and don't learn anything.very real
