I think the only way that happens is Brian and Petras have to start punishing teams down the field. The blocking isn't bad, it's just that the other team is sending 9 guys into the box almost every play.

Brian also needs to bring back the misdirection. Teams are jumping the play and flowing to the ball. Run that reverse to Tracy that has scored multiple times.

We used the misdirection threat and it held the backers just enough for Goodson’s TD. Not sure why they don’t use it more but watching that coaches clinic video grape posted Kirk’s son, Brian Ferentz made it clear he loves the Fuck You plays. Like you know what we’re doing but fuck you we’re still doing it and we’re going to execute it better than you.

You have 9 to block 11. Unfortunately Petras is no threat so the safeties can come flying toward the line of scrimmage.

Jacobs shucking Allen's block and causing the fumble was a great play. Belton is solid but he cant cover real big TEs. Hope Jacobs gets a lot more snaps moving forward. If you are going with 2 LBs in pass coverage, Id rather have Jacobs and Campbell in. Not a dig on Benson, Jacobs is just better.

I agree, but had all of us known Iowa would have been held to 173 offensive yards we would have bet a fuck ton of money on ISU.

Iowa has played two good defenses to start the year, but yesterday they couldn't do anything consistently, they made a couple of key plays when they had to and that's about it. They need the pants shitter to make some plays to TEs and WRs down field or this team will struggle to beat PSU and will definitely lose to Wisconsin if they can't even get to 200 yards in Camp Randle.

I’m not sure the Clones D was even all that good. They stacked the box and crashed every time. Receivers were open, Petras had time, he just doesn’t know how to move in a pocket and keep his eyes downfield.
