Iowa will beat the Gophers, but, the teams Iowa has won against this year are 9-26 on the season. Sparty is bad as well.

I keep seeing this, and I would get it in past years where Iowa had beaten shit teams and then gotten skull fucked by anyone with a pulse, but the difference this year is they played the #2 team in the country and made them look like shit and had them dead to rights. They also had a healthy Iowa State team beat on the road until the fumbled around and fucked it up.

Iowa also hasn't exactly struggled in their wins outside of self-inflicted wounds against Penn State. They've blown out everyone else. This isn't the 2022-2024 Iowa barely winning against shit teams and getting wrecked by good teams.

the Massey composite has them ranked around #30 but the ones built on drive/PBP data like FEI and S&P have them top 20. In the past those more predictive ones ones have tended to have Iowa lower than average
