The ANF guys were extremely complimentary of isu prior to the game. That was a clue that the game was going to be more difficult than expected. Could they still really suck? Yes and I hope that’s the case. But it also could be that isu is quite a bit better than the national media thought they’d be and Iowa beat them in a typical early season cyhawk matchup.

It was top 25 in offensive efficiency. Not yards or points. They were 43rd in offensive efficiency last season.

They look like a good defense overall that any other team in the country would be happy to have, might not be the ultra-tier of Iowa teams but they are good. 3 games and 13 points total is crazy no matter who it is.

I think the Iowa reporters have all pointed out, they only really play 2 teams with a top tier offense.

He is definitely better through three games than Gronowski was through three games. It’s really hard to tell how good or bad he is due to quality of opponent but he can at least identify open receivers and complete the easy passes which is all he needs to do to be in the top two QBs since CJB. t would be nice if he could hit a couple more deep shots though.

Also, having a WR helps. I am not gonna look up any stats to prove this, but I do not remember a year where we have thrown a lower percentage of passes to TEs, and I think our TEs are good.

Diaz is a difference maker. One replay that stuck out was where Diaz is running a crossing route about 15 yards downfield toward the RB. The DB covering the flat dropped back to double cover Diaz and left the flat wide open for a 10 yard gain. And Hank had the time and patience to let it develop. That may not work quite so well against a good defense, but it was nice to see.
