Ferentz is actually taking more of a risk by doing this type of hire. If it doesn't work, the fans won't revolt on Parker, it will be his ass fully on the line. I have long been on the side of the seat isn't hot and won't be, but this will actually accelerate that if it doesn't work.

Had he gone outside, at least people would back off a bit because they were asking for an external hire and Ferentz could fire him and pick someone else.

As I said a couple weeks ago, I can understand the frustration with the timing but am not upset with Parker as DC. He's been the best position coach on staff for over a decade and has done a hell of a job. His former players campaigned for him and rave about him. Even nolook's boy.He's earned a shot and is a good fit.

I'm not as comfortable with an OC who has never called plays before.

While I agree with you I am still a little disappointed only because I wanted some fresh perspective. I don't think Parker will do a bad job I was just hoping for a slightly different style of play. Who knows, maybe we will get that.

I am not comfortable with Morgan moving to DL. That seems like a strange fit to me but I guess they had to make room for Brian.

Hot garbage? Big fucking deal. Minnesota has been hot gargabe the last 2 years. ISU has been garbage many times we lost to them. Indiana was gargabe when we were within 1 dropped pass of losing to them, and down after 3 quarters at home. NW has been garbage and still beat us. Western Michigan sucks ass and beat us at home on senior day.

Plus, we won 7 games this year and with losing the best WR in school history, the majority of our O-Line, most of our D-Line, having no returning starting RBs, etc., we are not going to be BETTER next year.
