Krikke is an embarrassing rebounder. Have some GD pride.

But going down that rabbit hole, Pat has an unfathomably bad OR%. The only player on the team he's worse than is Harding.
Harding and Pat are our best offensive rebounders?

The idea that nil will get better because we fire Fran and get a new coach is a pipe dream.

Maybe people would get more excited donating to Treyvon from Chicago than Aiden from Spencer

I assume it would have had to be not just a bag but a bigger bag than KU.

I think this is correct. Even as a 18 year old, you’re an absolute fucking imbecile if you wouldn’t want to play in Fran’s system. He’s gotten guys drafted recently, etc. Iowa just refused to get involved with bag men in the pre NIL stuff and most of the high profile donors are basketball retards. Winning at a high level in basketball at a school like Iowa is way more feasible than football but because reasons we won’t embrace that.

Attendance went down from ‘07 to ‘08 despite firing a coach that many hated and hiring the national coach of the year off a sweet 16. When we hired Fran it went up about 2K but that was coming of absolute rock bottom in every way to a polar opposite in excitement.
Alford wasnt fired. He abruptly quit cuz he saw writing on the wall.

Alford left because he knew he had to make the tournament the next year and he wasn’t exactly confident he was going to do it.

He was and is a complete douche but Alford was finally getting into the shady side of college basketball. He stopped recruiting Ben Rands and instead started recruiting Tyler Smith/Beas Hamga/Emanual Negadu etc. Noodles found the money somewhere.

Side note, he had a commitment from some small forward from Pennsylvania before he left for New Mexico as well. Averaged like 15 and 10 for his high school team. Can’t remember the kids name though.

I’m in camp keep Fran. They are about as efficient as anyone on offense while minimizing turnovers. They need to figure out a way to provide the kind of money it takes to land a player like Shannon in the portal.
You're not wrong, but ...

What good is being a Top 10 OffEff team when you are also annually a Top 110-125 DefEff team??

Hard to win consistently, let alone conference crowns & deep NCAA runs, when you are anywhere from 10 to 13x worse on defense than you are on offense.

My point was more that he clearly is a great coach when you consider their pace and limited turnovers. He refuses to address their biggest weakness which is a problem.

I know this isn't really the case, I'm just frustrated, but at times it seems like his "key to winning" is to just simply outscore the opponent.

The lack of consistent defensive intensity and lackadaisical efforts in rebounding can be so infuriating to watch. We know they can do a lot better in both areas, for longer sustained chunks of time, but they usually just don't.

Gary was a pg.

Trying to remember that Canadian forward that Alfraud and Noodles signed out of some PA diploma mill, then never made it to campus. Classic late Stevie recruit.

I’ve been scouring the Summit League rosters for Iowas next big. North Dakota has 3 of them with eligibility left. BJ Omot, Tsotne Tsartsidze, and Amar Kuljuhovic might be some names to keep an eye on.

It sucks Iowa pretty much has 0 NIL budget for basketball.
I fucking knew it.
