his 7 PPG and 3 RPG haven't been replicated till Joe came along.
We were going to ask your kid to transfer to Mousecatine, but we already had a team manager.
He started on a team that made it to state so he'd have an experience you never had
Incredible. What an amazing accomplishment and I'm 100% sure that is likely the highlight of his life that he will talk about until he is 80 if he is anything like his old man.

That was my last year as well. But only ‘cuz of knee surgery. Otherwise for sure would have been on my varsity team that went to state.

Nope, but he plays intramurals on Sunday and him and daddy can experience it together.

He even tapes his ankles before the game, a super important job that only few can do and refers to him as "his" athlete. They then talk endlessly about their love for Oklahoma State.

Glad you had some extra time after breaking down that Muskie game film.

At the Muskie linn Mar game in CR. Wieskamp has 21. 2-3 from 3 and 7-8 from the line. Mousecatine up 29-22 at half.

Good for Joe. But 2nd trip to state in 58 years?

Woof.
There were about 10 teams in the last 30 years better than Joe's team, but when you had to go through Bergman and Iowa City West for about 20 years to get to State you don't get there very often.

State pairings are out, Mousecatine is the 8 seed and they play West Tuesday night at 6:30.

West what?
Iowa City West.

Fucking fuck have to play those mother fuckers at every turn.
Based on what I saw last night, West is not the machine they have been in the past few years. There are a lot of new faces in their lineup and they made a lot of sloppy mistakes last night. The biggest problem they pose for Mousecatine is that they have two 6'5"+ guys(10 fouls) in Patrick and Hoambrecker who are athletic enough to at least challenge Joe defensively and make him work for it.

It will be interesting to see if Bergman pushes the pace like he did last year against Mousecatine in sub-state or if he goes for one of his patented slowdown games like he often does against teams that he feels can challenge them.

I noticed that Joes shooting fell off a little bit this year probably because of the ridiculous defenses he sees. But holy shit AJ Green shot almost 50% from three point range this year. That is incredible.

That's such a 2A answer. :)
That does suck if they been in the same sub-state with Iowa City West for 20 years in a row
I can't remember when they changed it up but they did finally shake up the sub-state parings in the early 2000's and Mousecatine with mediocre team made it and then think they changed it back a few years later or have changed it to rotating.

I do think for something like 30+ years Mousecatine was always paired with the Iowa City schools in substate. In the late 80's as I have mentioned before Wiekamp's dad's team was great. I think they were something like 20-3 and all 3 losses were to Iowa City City High in the years they won the State Championship and then got to the finals and lost in overtime.

Then when I was in high school we were knocked out 4 years in a row by Iowa City West in the playoffs. 2 of those years Mousecatine was either ranked in the Top 10 or good enough to go to state, but every fucking time Iowa City West was sitting right there no matter what. They got to the finals twice and won State once during those 4 years.

Oh, and as a big ol' fuck you to Mousecatine, the 2 times that they have made it to state because they were finally clear of playing Iowa City West in substate in 2002 and 2018 they somehow get paired up with Iowa City West in the first game at state.

My high school made it to state for the first time ever. I think it's neat.

Really like Bergman, he still reminds me to this day what a waste I was in high school

Bergman would have no idea who I am and I walked by him every day for 4 years. He'd probably be mad I chose TWR for drivers ed instead of him.
