Still, just given the size of the school and factoring in wealthy alums, Iowa should be able to outbid Iowa State, Creighton, Gonzaga, and a few dozen other schools who seem to have more talented players. The talent deficit is probably more of a Fran issue than an NIL one.

NIL donations are as much a "culture" thing as anything else. The fact of the matter is that Iowa is a "football school."

Him and krikke at same time was disastrous. He tried hard but has concrete feet. The team will be much better defensively. Fran teams will always find a way to be solid offensively. I think we will be surprised by lil fart. Hes a better defender than his bro. Longer arms, and its not like he can possibly be slower laterally. He will emerge offensively similar to how dix did last year.

Now, if dix leaves all bets are off. Otherwise, add a bruiser big man and i actually like the team.

Theres a decent chance hes gone. Similar situation to wieskamp. Whether fart will succeed as a pro or not is less relevant than whether it is a good decision financially. Thelwell is almost 36% on 267 attempts the last two years and said he had a wrist injury last year.
Dix was 42% last year. Pryce was 35% and probably under performed projections. Harding ended up 38% on a small amount. Koch is ranked one of the best shooters in his class.

You could say there aren’t enough shooters on the floor at times I suppose.

As noted, dont think they will be good either. But probably no worse than last year. Good deal of addition by subtraction with pmac and krikke. Krikke is likely the worst defensive player i have ever seen play significant minutes for iowa. And yes i understand the implications of that statement.

That lineup badly needs depth at the wing and another big rebounder would be v helpful.

If fartman comes back i think we are a bubble team. Add a legit backup big and barring injury we are solidly in, might even advance to the round of 32.
