It was. I am.
How about the optics of supporting college athletes with a can drive? They own Riverside Casino so it makes sense for them but the optics of college athletes being supported by gambling money is horrible.
Ehh. NIL has removed the pretense of the "purity" of college athletics. They own Riverside Casino so it makes sense for them but the optics of college athletes being supported by gambling money is horrible.
You and I would certainly get pissed. If another school was doing this and getting players “we” would be pissed that once again Iowa is sitting on their ass.
The only people that should be mad about this are the schools that were doing it before everyone else could.Ehh. NIL has removed the pretense of the "purity" of college athletics.
Link?It appears that Kirk is going to gamble that all of last year’s issues were Spencer-related and allow his dumb twat of a son to try to improve his resume by giving him another shot.
This could only happen at Iowa. Perfect storm of a weak AD, toothless media, and easily placated fans.
What makes it appear that way to you?It appears that Kirk is going to gamble that all of last year’s issues were Spencer-related and allow his dumb twat of a son to try to improve his resume by giving him another shot.

At this point, who gives a shit? Optics aren’t a thing anymore. Won’t be surprised when we see dispensaries, bars/distributors, etc supporting athletes either. They own Riverside Casino so it makes sense for them but the optics of college athletes being supported by gambling money is horrible.
That wouldn't look goodNext person to type optics is getting hunted down and the shit beat out of them.
Optics...bring it.Next person to type optics is getting hunted down and the shit beat out of them.
How long will it take for people to stop insinuating that when their team doesn't get a recruit, the evil winning team paid them more in some nefarious plot to stack the deck against Johnny Hometeam? At this point, who gives a shit? Optics aren’t a thing anymore. Won’t be surprised when we see dispensaries, bars/distributors, etc supporting athletes either.
So he saw how horrible the offense was, decided it was Spencer’s fault, and still didn’t try out another qb.It appears that Kirk is going to gamble that all of last year’s issues were Spencer-related and allow his dumb twat of a son to try to improve his resume by giving him another shot.

Who here doesn’t get compensated for their charitable efforts?“compensating student athletes for their charitable efforts” brought a sensible chuckle
he needed the post-season evaluation period to reach that decisionSo he saw how horrible the offense was, decided it was Spencer’s fault, and still didn’t try out another qb.
Thats the beauty of evaluating things after the seasonSo he saw how horrible the offense was, decided it was Spencer’s fault, and still didn’t try out another qb.
The Optics room is really thin right now. That wouldn't look good
I hate you.The Optics room is really thin right now.
If you need any help hunting them downI hate you.
For 3 fucking yearsSo he saw how horrible the offense was, decided it was Spencer’s fault, and still didn’t try out another qb.
It's tough when people are out with an optics. The Optics room is really thin right now.
There was the belief that changes wouldn't be made until after the bowl game. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Recruiting is pretty much done. The more time that passes, especially with Iowa in the Top 25 in most pre-season polls, the less pressure Kirk will feel. He's not going anywhere. What makes it appear that way to you?
At this point, I truly believe it has nothing to do with Kirk. I think it is all about how good Brian's options are. And they are probably super poor because he is a skill-deficient goon who no one wants as a co-worker.There was the belief that changes wouldn't be made until after the bowl game. Well….that DOES have a lot to do with KirkAt this point, I truly believe it has nothing to do with Kirk. I think it is all about how good Brian's options are. And they are probably super poor because he is a skill-less goon who no one wants as a co-worker.
That's the magic of Kirk's retardation. I don't think he ever thought Spencer was an issue. There's was always something else to blame, like a young offensive line. In his mind, Spencer was fine. But McNamara is better and the offensive line will be improved because...reasons. So why not give Brian another shot to repair his reputation? So he saw how horrible the offense was, decided it was Spencer’s fault, and still didn’t try out another qb.
The only rumor of any substance that had Brian leaving was him following BOB to New England as a position coach. NE hasn't even made their OC hire yet. There was the belief that changes wouldn't be made until after the bowl game. That was almost 2 weeks ago. Recruiting is pretty much done. I should have rephrased. What I meant was Kirk is not going to make any decisions. He will wait for Brian to say, "daddy, I want to leave."Well….that DOES have a lot to do with Kirk
he’s unwilling to fire his dipshit son unless he has a soft landing
The only hope was and is Brian goes to the NFL and those staffing decisions should be starting soon. There was the belief that changes wouldn't be made until after the bowl game. I would also accept USFL or high school level. The only hope was and is Brian goes to the NFL and those staffing decisions should be starting soon.
That's my theory. Iowa has dropped all of this NIL money to rebuild the offense. Why bring in someone else and allow them to succeed when Brian didn't have the same opportunity? It will only further the narrative that Brian was/is incompetent, while the new OC gets all the praise. That's the magic of Kirk's retardation. I don't think he ever thought Spencer was an issue. Iowa football is basically a family business at this point and Kirk has garnered enough goodwill with Iowa fans to pretty much do whatever he wants.
Brian is the decision maker on this. All timelines regarding this are made up. Kirk obviously operates on his own timeline for everything, forever. It can be annoying, but I don't know that it should be given it is Kirk, and it's not changing.
lol. Brian would never have to work another day in his life if he didn’t want to.That's my theory. Iowa has dropped all of this NIL money to rebuild the offense. I also think the biggest issue is that Kirk (and Mary) doesn't want to send his son and grandchildren to the east coast when they currently live 10 minutes away. Kirk will do whatever he can to preserve that.
This is why nepotism sucks.
lol. Brian would never have to work another day in his life if he didn’t want to.
No fucking shit. That has nothing to do with my post.lol. Brian would never have to work another day in his life if he didn’t want to.
