DL: The main rotation as of now will be Hurkett, Allen (who will miss most of the spring unfortunately) Llewelyn, Graves, Pittman and transfer. They really like Drew Campbell and hopefully someone like Maddux Borcherding-Johnson takes a step. Iose will likely get rotational snaps as well. Anderson, Kennedy, Merrieweather and Chineke will all be redshirt freshman or sophomores next year so they may be thrown in as well. Maybe a Ben Kueter too if he comes back.

LB: Will probably be some combination of Harrell/Sharar/Van Kekerix/Buffington//Weisskopf. They have a million bodies at these 2 positions and Iowa has had 3 consensus All-Americans at this position the last 7 years so I’m sure they’ll be fine here.

DB: X/Lee/Hall/Lutmer/Entringer/Nestor/Watson all played this year. The corner from Miami of Ohio with a 6’8” wing span just visited. Kahlil Tate, Rashad Godfrey and Teegan Davis are all freshman but I’m always skeptical of someone going into their 3rd year at DB that hasn’t played even special teams being much of a factor.

WR: They bring everyone back and are trying to get at least 1 out of the portal. Mota and KJ Parker are the only scholarship guys that haven’t played. Parker redshirted, Mota probably sucks. Vandr Zee, Gill, Anderson, Howard, Buie, Washington Jr. is probably as healthy as the position has been given where it was a couple years ago. It’s still not great but not completely horrible.

RB: Moulton/Patterson/Washington/Doll/Williams. Will be a significant step back from Johnson but Doll has had a good bowl prep and may play in the game

QB: Who knows at the moment

TE: Ostrenga/Ortwerth with Hoffman and Burt as freshman. Also bringing in a couple that could play early.

OL: Jones/Stephens/Dunker back. Would like the OT from Rice but the price might be too high. Pieper got a lot of goal line reps so is probably in line for the second guard spot. They actually have some tackle bodies now in Leonard, Dotzler and Lauck but they’re all relatively young and who knows if any are worth a shit. They brought in Borud last year so I would expect him to push for rotational guard reps. Michael Myslinski appears to be healthy for the first time in his life so maybe he could also surprise next year.

A lot of these guys are probably a year behind developmentally because of the number of COVID guys Iowa brought back for this season. While individual positions like running back could see significant drop off, as a whole I don’t think the team is going to just turn to dog shit because guys graduate like so many are implying.

Every player I mentioned could portal themself today so don’t hold it against me.
I do believe Mota moved to the secondary during the season- where he should have been all along, but Iowa had to accede to his wishes to play WR so he wouldn't go to ISU.

I'll thank you to not bring up emotionally damaging memories that I have buried deep down in places I don't like to talk about.

UCF seems like an odd inclusion. I’m guessing he’ll end up at Mississippi.

Probably more because they have more $, or at least did last year. Hopefully their wad is shot.

Ole Miss is likely to start Austin Simmons next year. They’re looking more for a backup/Sullivan situation behind him.

I’m not being contrarian. Why is it assumed Ole Miss has more money?

Did the kid actually visit Columbia or just talk to Drinkwitz on the phone? That place sucks.
I dated a girl that moved to Columbia for grad school. I visited her a couple of times and came away with the same opinion of the town. However, for Missouri...it's an oasis of culture and sophistication. Of course, that's a pretty low bar to clear.

It’s like KU. The whole campus looks like a branch library.

Welp. On to the next one. Does Petra’s have any eligibility left? Bacon?

I lived in Columbia for a few years. I thought their campus was pretty nice actually. I certainly prefer Iowa City, but there are plenty of places to have a good time. Tailgating scene is pretty sterile tho

I think they’re probably “fine” going into next year at QB, though it sure would be been nice to get this kid. They’re going to need to show the willingness and ability to have a decent to good passing game to get kids like this. They didn’t do that this year but I bet they will going forward.

I’m reading money wasn’t the issue with Pribula so that’s a least a positive.

I don't know if it's a positive that QBs would turn down money in order to avoid playing for Iowa.

Looks like he took Missouris money instead.

It’s probably going to take another season with Lester. Tough to sell a QB on going 8/13 for 98 yards. Thanks Cade.

About 10 years ago, I met a girl on a dating app who was in school at Mizzou. Super cool. We had a whole weekend planned. I drove 4 hours to Columbia and I got to Shakespeare’s Pizza where she had said to meet her. I get there and don’t see her. So I just kind of mill around a little bit. I get a text and she asks if it is me and I say yes, then she comes up to me. She had clearly used some very old pictures because she had become a very big girl. I don’t mean packed on a few pounds. I mean like 300 lbs. I was absolutely stunned. It was a very awkward time. I paid for the dinner and then told her to text me her address, that I was going to stop and get some things and then head there. I stopped at a gas station, got a pack of smokes and skipped town. I chain smoked the entire 4 hour drive back. We never spoke again.

I like the fact that we’re either just supposed to know know Shakespeare’s pizza or it was a random specific thrown in for effect

That’s a mid-Missouri medium
