3 Star high school recruits don't really have that many options since most schools don't care about high school recruiting anymore. Especially this late in the game. It makes more sense for those guys to go to a lower school and play and then transfer up for lots of money.

seems to be the new dynamic. why take a flyer on a mid-low rated freshmen when you can get a junior or senior already-developed player from a mid-major. going forward only the most talented freshmen will go to power conferences. it won't surprsie me at all if we get teams taking no freshmen.

This is way overblown, mostly because the regional / local nature of college programs. Schools like Iowa and pretty much every program are still going to have good local or legacy high school kids that grew up following the program and are going to want to commit and play there for their whole career.

Sure, maybe a school with a hired gun and special circumstances like St. John's isn't going to bother with high school kids, but the vast majority of schools are still going to recruit, sign and develop high school players.

basketball has way more movement than football, but the best players at power 4 schools in football are mostly high school recruits. I think it will level out in basketball too.

Franny Boy last three years has been stroking his one incher as far as recruiting, Beth looked down, and said "I need something larger", please.
