When you come from places like we did, there’s generally a stark and jarring difference in how the stayers and leavers have aged. Considerably moreso than in my parents generation, imo. That convenience store life ain’t healthy.

I remember being back home last year and bumping into an old girlfriend I had when I was 16 out with some friends. She's got 3 kids now and is fat, and has never left the QC.

We are catching up for a bit. Finally she leans in and says "I want you to know you look really good now that your acne has cleared up."

I kind of laughed. That was a quarter century ago. Your mind and perception of me and people in general is still back there in high school?

He was huge in the Big Ten Tournament Championship game against Purdue in 2022. I think most of the shit that gets flipped in his direction here is more pushback against the posters who said he would have a nice NBA career than an actual indictment of him as a player. At least I hope so. He was a solid Hawkeye.
