Unless you're getting a sure thing at QB, I don't love it. Iowas returns on portal QBs have not been worth the money. Cade was awful. Mark was decent, albeit underwhelming with his passing ability. Just think the long term play is to develop high school guys and eventually they need to get back to that. Use that money on positions Iowa does well with.

I'm fine with it. Why spend $3 million on a guy we will make mediocre anyway.

Spend the money elsewhere
Agreed. The goal for an Iowa QB should be: Mobile to an average to above average degree, be able to throw a couple deep balls per game.

I wonder if they will look at Alex Manske. Kirk’s retarded son recruited him out of high school. Klein also recruited him at KSU

All I care about is having a QB who can run now. As a passer, statistically Gronowski wasn't a whole lot better than fuckin Spencer. The difference is he can run, which is a necessary attribute in our offense.

Our receivers are always mediocre. Our inability to develop quarterbacks or identify talent at the position is typically abysmal and appears to transcend changes in OCs. We are fucking addicted to throwing 3 yard outs, and I doubt that changes any time soon.

We can't coach that position for shit so might as well just put the best runner we can find back there

I'm confused how we stole the QB from Boise State, because other people seem to think he's good.

Maybe there’s something brewing over on Evashevski Drive.

When they brought O’Keefe back in 2017 they put him in charge of QB evaluation and recruiting. He didn’t exactly do them any favors.

We should go back to having a quarterback get 2nd in the Heisman voting, always a good time.

Note: Long and Banks both lost their bowl game, Pavia should do the same.

Let's get one of those running quarterbacks who play for other schools and always seem to miraculously not get injured for the entire season. Gronowski was robust as fuck and still got dinged. My butthole puckers every time an iowa qb runs the ball.

Hope Hecklinski works out, offers out of High School are underwhelming.

Sullivan had a decent offer list

Bessinger must have really improved over the summer, not a great offer list until Iowa, UCLA and MInnesota got involved. Highly rated, doubt he would be ready for next year

I think that on very limited information, Hecklinski could be a bit like CJ in terms of leadership and swagger.
He reminds me a little of Tate, but Tate was a much better recruit.

Hecklinski reminds me of Gunnar Stockton. Similar high school career and physical attributes. I’d be happy with that if I’m right.

How did you come to that conclusion?

He's kinda Gronkesque. (Big, raw-boned, fast enough, pretty tough)

It would be hilarious if he went to KState, but I'd think Penn State with a recovering-from-surgery Rocco makes more sense. Grunkemeyer returning would cloud things up a lot, though.

What is Penn State going to do with Grunkemeyer? I'm assuming Rocco is coming in with Campbell, so after today he might be in demand.

I can’t get all that excited about a portal kicker
