The thing that gives me comfort is that Lester seems comfortable with the QB situation. I trust his judgement at least more than usual at this point. He clearly hated the entire roster of QB's when he got here and immediately threw them all out of the building in the Spring of 2024.

He was forced into Cade starting in 2024, but also clearly wanted Sullivan and never went back to Cade when he was hurt. Once that was done, he again cleared the QB roster out and brought in 3 new guys.

That is all a long way of me saying that if he thought the QB position was a huge danger, he would have at least tried to bring in another guy in the portal this year. Maybe he still will bring in another guy in the next few weeks, but they don't seem to be in any panic. Reportedly loves Hecklinski, is tolerant if needed of Brown as the backup, but the other Sullivan kid or the true Freshman are also in the mix if things go wrong.

It will be fine if Hecklinski is an average QB that can hit open receivers and run a bit when in trouble. That's all they really need.
