Portal looks to be complete, at least for scholly guys - we're at 85/85. Interesting note is that we still only have 8 seniors for '26 and none of the mare exactly world beaters or even all conference types. I think we'll be pretty good next year but we could be keyed for a '27 run except that our schedule that year includes @Indiana and @Oregon (@Wisconsin and @Neb are the other two douche road games). We also have Michigan at home. Potentially epic year regardless.

There is no such thing as 85/85 anymore.

There are still 85 scholarships - it may change towards 105 but hasn’t yet. I appreciate they pay walk ons now - but we’re pretty close to maxed there too (including 9 grandfather guys we can to 114 on the roster rn)

All 105 can be on scholarship if the program chooses to.

And for avoidance of doubt the reason no one is going above 85 is the Title IX ratio issue.

Instead walk on now get revenue share sufficient to cover tuition, etc.

It really doesn’t matter if they have 105 or 145 until August. If they’re over that number they’ll just tell guys to leave.

The article clearly states he entered on Friday, the last day to enter. Player only had to decide to enter by the end of day on Friday, they can commit at any time after.
Correct. Paperwork will be processed through Tuesday so could be some late announcements yet to come.

6k players still in the portal with classes starting Tuesday, if they haven’t already. That is a ton of kids who are shit out of luck.

It's been over 30 years since I was in college, but one had a week after classes started to late-enroll, and 2 weeks to drop. Wouldn't surprise me if there were exceptions to this, especially for these guys.

He's a little feller but has some decent visits lined up. Not sure he'd be a long term guy but certainly can't hurt the depth
do they see one of the 3 safeties we’ve already signed as a corner?

They do their homework

21. Iowa (9-4)
Losing 27 seniors won’t be easy for Iowa, especially with key losses at quarterback and both lines. The Hawkeyes feel good about their internal options, though. The offensive line could be terrific behind left tackle Trevor Lauck and star right guard Kade Pieper. At quarterback, former Wake Forest transfer Jeremy Hecklinski holds the early edge for the starting job. Defensively, the Hawkeyes did suffer a big loss in safety Koen Entringer and still need transfer help up front. But Iowa’s track record on that side of the ball speaks for itself.

21 seems about right without knowing what they are gonna get at the QB spot

Overall, the roster seems to be in great shape. Could be concerned about depth at CB, and uncertain what you get out of the young LB, but rest of roster looks pretty darn solid

Hard not to like the schedule next year as well.

Hoping that Ohio State home game is in November
