None of this is surprising. I’m all for players getting paid and have no problem with this Swarm stuff but I think any of you donating your hard earned money to the Swarm are crazy.

Good news all around. McNamara and All commit. The LB visit is confirmed and they have a great shot at him. Sounds like they have the CB for depth. 2 WR's sound imminent.

Really nice haul if/when it comes together. Also the fact that McNamara confirmed big changes are coming to the Iowa offense.

Were you okay with people donating money to the Iowa AD? If so, that’s no longer needed as TV money will cover anything and everything they’ve always dreamed of.

I get not wanting to donate to swarm for all the various reasons out there. But I want my team to be good, so I will happily move whatever I was sending to Garta to now go to the swarm. I don’t see the big deal either way, although I think it’s dumb as fuck to keep giving money to the AD when they no longer need it.

That's fair. There are definitely some kids that have that as the goal. A lot, though? I don't agree with that.

I'm also not sure of the mechanics of the portal for transferring down. They've always been able to transfer down without penalty. Do they have to enter the portal now to do so? Is it just an easy way to get their name out there?

They have to "enter the portal" as a mechanism to transfer and speak with other coaches..even if moving down. These numbers need context...there are not a bunch of D1 capable players out there at the end of the portal season left without a chair or anywhere to play. And certainly no a majority of them.
