Has anyone actually met CID? I would love to see if the real CID matches what's in my head

It appears Iowa and Iowa City will see some challenging times in 2020.

2020-21 has just become a repeat of 1968-1969, as we can pull out old Daily Iowans to reflect on the Black Player Boycott.

Culture wars .... waters look rough heading into voluntary workouts next week.

James Daniels graduated from the U of Iowa, correct?

The past 10+ days are causing many worlds to unwind.

Lately he has been inserting posts like this into other people's threads, in addition to the massive number of threads he starts. He dropped this one in the middle of a Hounded argument that was occurring in a thread about today's WUW episode.

Two highly respected former players.
  • James Daniels
  • Jordan Lomax
Faith, Family and Football ....

The faith in Kirk Ferentz pulling Iowa Football through this change is encouraging. Will he succeed, without his #2?

Pending covid-19, we shall see later this year, hopefully.

Since it would mean that I am attending an event at Kinnick or Carver Hawkeye...I would do the burrito lift with the biggest fucking smile ever.

That’s the @bearbull method. Loved when I’d be reading a thread about something awful and he’d pop in with a coffee thought.

James Daniels talked about the racial disparities at the University of Iowa this summer. This wasn't knew news internally, but it shed light to it externally.

Clearly, it appears steps in response began before the 2019 season from feedback shared by players.

Kirk Ferentz and the Iowa Hawkeyes open next Saturday, without Marc Morehouse covering for The Gazette.

2020 has certainly brought us change.

This might be in the running for
🐐

Soft tissue issues or whatever are a risk in 2020.

Iowa has racial disparities to overcome. Mistreatment was documented.

After 21 years, Chris Doyle was paid handsomely to leave.

21 years is a very long haul for a S&C head at one spot.

The walkon podcast shared some positives on change. Or, the need to change.

Kirk Ferentz and Brian Ferentz both need to change. As an OL coach, accusations of mistreatment by Brian.

The Team is larger than one player. It is larger than one coach. The program is larger than one head coach.

Kirk Ferentz has been at Iowa for 31 years. The players want him, as their coach in 2020.

It is 2020, a new decade. Iowa has been living in the shadow of 2010 and Wisconsin. It needs to get a win at Kinnick.

The 2014 season was ugly. When did the off season Rhabo incident happen?

Change is necessary. Change for change sake isn't recommended as a strategy, in my book.

We shall see how 2020 plays out beginning at Purdue.

6-2 in I am a giant douche would take Iowa on the same I am a giant douche set of stairs over the past 3 years and move the Hawkeyes up a notch.

On Iowa!

Fight for Iowa, stand or bend a knee, but do it in your heart, rather than for show.

This thread needs a bump. I'm bored at work and am overdue for some cid nonsense.

Two Years ago a new team made the CFP and won

What do you see in 2021-22 with the College Football Playoff?

Oklahoma has never won a College Football Playoff semi-final game ever, though many suggest this could be the first title, since Bob Stoops won a national title in Year 2 over 20 years ago?

Iowa State is the little darling of the CFP crashers for the 2021 season, but no one really thinks they can actually win the title, right?

Alabama and Ohio State sent a boatload of talent to NFL, so can the Crimson Tide repeat?

How important is defense to a national title run?

Ohio State didn't have enough last year and the back 7 isn't a strength yet for 2021.

If Indiana Penix is healthy, will there be a shootout in Bloomington against O-H-I-O again?

Week 1: biggest game is Clemson vs. Georgia, maybe the best college D-Line one year older against a top team with more questions than most in the O-Line?

Does anyone have the right recipe for a College Football run in 2021-22?

Will LSU be back in the picture?

Is Texas A&M one of the five CFB teams capable of winning it all?

What about the Pac Ten?

Notre Dame went last year and three years ago, so they are an odd team out?

Top 15, but not College Football Playoff contender.

Northwestern won't be ranked by many to open 2021, but we can't eliminate them from keeping Iowa out again?

Who should be the higher rated team: Iowa or Wisconsin?

Max 2021 .... not much to talk about, only forecast or predict?

Will Iowa have any portal news again, like last May?

Fwiw peace

Ha what a fucking mess. Has anyone actually met/known this guy? There's something mentally wrong with him right? I assume his job is collecting cans around Cedar Rapids?

cid is clearly pumped for the season. Something like 25 threads in the past two days including this magnum opus.

---

Iowa was the preseason AP #1 program in 1961. It was Jerry Burns first season after replacing short-term legendary Iowa coach Forest Evashevski.

Ohio State was ranked #2.

Ironically, this season Iowa State is #7, highest ranking in program history. And, Big 12 conference mate Oklahoma is ranked #2. (Note: IU was ranked in 1969 at #14, Iowa beat IU that season in Bloomington).

We all know Iowa didn't fare well in 1961, ending 5-4 on the season. The next 19 years was worse, including those 19 straight losses to Black & Gold rivals Purdue, starting with an 9-0 road loss in 1961.

Does Iowa really have the #1 defense in 2021?

Hopefully, Iowa fairs better than the #1 AP preseason ranking in 1961.

Iowa has two tough road games to kickoff 2021 in non-conference and Big Ten.

The Hawkeyes have not loss in Ames, since the 44-41 3OT game in 2011. Of course, the ugliest game in the Kirk Ferentz era was 2005 loss.

Overall, Iowa does play better in Ames, than Iowa City in the KF era?

BTW, Iowa has never won in College Park. Lost in 2014, with OC Greg Davis asking QB Jake Rudock to go win the game in the air. Memories of OC Brian Ferentz last year with Spencer Petras against Northwestern.

Will the Iowa State Cyclones fair better in 2021 than Iowa in 1961?

Iowa went from #1 preseason to NR with a 5-4 record. Iowa State isn't going to fall too far, but we shall see, with Northern Iowa and Iowa in Week 1 and 2 at Jack Trice Stadium.

It was fitting in 1981 that Iowa clinched their first winning season, since 1961 against Purdue. Next up, Iowa opens with Indiana.

Iowa didn't get Iowa State in 2020, while Indiana didn't get Purdue. Listening to Tom Allen this week, hopefully, Iowa takes care of business out of the gate?

It will be vital to get and stay healthy in 2021.

100 years ago, the Hawkeyes had an elite season in my best PJ Fleck voice.

*** https://twitter.com/Quinn_Douglas_/status/1162434242397310978 ***

Growing up at Kinnick, with the Bob Commings era and early Hayden Fry, it took until 40 years ago, to witness that first breakout season.

Since 2014, Iowa has trended upward according to FPI each season. However, 2021 is a question?

Does Iowa take a step backwards?

Or, can the Hawkeyes break through, with a Top notch opportunity with two Top 20 opponents, like early 1981.

It makes for good drama:
• 2014 UI 7-6, IU 4-8, ISU 2-10
• 2015 UI 12-2, IU 6-7, ISU 3-9
• 2016 UI 8-5, IU 6-7, ISU 3-9
• 2017 UI 8-5, IU 5-7, ISU 8-5
• 2018 UI 9-4, IU 5-7, ISU 8-5
• 2019 UI 10-3, IU 8-5, ISU 7-6
• 2020 UI 6-2, IU 6-2, ISU 9-3

Will any of these teams have a breakout season in 2021, despite the preseason rankings?

Kirk Ferentz is in Year 23, loves his team. It certainly appears loose in the preseason. What will BTN have to say later in August with their preview show?

Tom Allen made his debut in the 2016 bowl game, replacing Kevin Wilson. He has brought L-E-O and an uptick to recruiting with the Class of 2022 for the Hoosiers in Year 5.

Iowa State coach Matt Campbell enters Year 6 with what is being called the greatest Iowa State Cyclones team in program history. They are seeking their first 10+ win, double digit win season, ranked #7 in the preseason. IU is #17, with Iowa #18.

It should be an interesting 2021. Reminder, be like 1960 🤔

I think my favorite are the tweets of completely random people with 0-1 likes plus the one of Maryland playing ranked teams on the road with no further context whatsoever.

He also keeps switching between 1960 and 1961. 😂

Best part of every preseason is reading his shit.
And for the fourth year in a row, I ask-has anyone actually met him or know who he is? There's no way he's not learning disabled.
