Yeah I'd have definitely worded that different. Mention players had options to go elsewhere but opted to stay. Not the fact you can't give them more $$.

I'm blowing all hopes of joining the cool kid's club by saying this, but I imagine Matty was pretty accurate with his figure of 20 guys. ISU has to be pretty near the bottom in what they can afford to pay, no? Looking at the roster, there's a lot of production and experience that would attract interest. From Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oregon, etc? No, but there are non-elites with money who have holes to plug.

I will say that, in studying the roster, it's about as much of a LATFG group overall as one might find.

Oddly enough Ames was on an initial list of primary targets for the USSR as some of the Manhattan Project took place there.
