Its not so much that ISU stuff isn't sold at Wal-mart, its more that Wal-mart finds no value in selling ISU stuff so much they don't bother.

Wonder what the cost would be to send pallets of unsold ISU merchandise to the Sudan? I'm sure it was part of their cost benefit analysis.

Jamie Pollard skips one of these across the Skunk River after every Iowa State victory. He has a couple goss of them left in his basement.

I posted years ago on here when Chizik left after 2 years that Iowa State should go with the strategy of hiring the best up and coming young coach that can recruit his ass off. Don't hire experienced guys that are older, but go really young and hungry that see Ames as a challenge and stepping stone to eventually taking a big job later down the road.

The hometown older guys simply aren't working in 2015 at Iowa State. Rhoads has been a disaster by any objective competitive measure. He had some extremely mediocre seasons with Chizik's players followed by some awful years. It doesn't look like they will get anywhere beyond 4 or 5 wins this year. The recruiting also continues to get worse. The only reason Rhoads has a job is 1) So Proud!! speech.... 2) Multiple wins against Iowa.... 3) Win over Oklahoma State in 2011 and the main reason because Iowa State fans are loyal to the point they have made it not make financial sense to fire him.

What should have happened is McCarney never should have been fired. Either way, they should get rid of Rhoads and go hire some 35 year old stud with a name for $1.5 million and let him hire some decent coordinators and give him a really good recruiting budget. They can't do worse than what they have done in the last few years and might actually get lucky and hit into something special.

Probably a good strategy, but any young coach that would possibly experience a little success in Ames wouldn't stay around very long.

Do you and C.A. Jones share a padded cell? That wasn't the point he was trying to make. JFC.

They need to find a guy like fitz- young and hungry and bleeds their awful school colors so they don't necessarily want to leave. Can Jake Knott coach?

They shouldn't give a shit if they want to leave or not. Hire a 35 year old name stud who can recruit and then in 4 years he moves or flames out, hire another one and repeat the cycle.

You either do that or don't fire McCarney.

They need to find a hook, either get a youngin good recruiter or start playing the triple option or run and shoot. Never going to happen trying a traditional approach.

It is their only angle being in literally the worst recruiting area in the entire country.

I don't follow ISU recruiting, but just from what the announcers were saying, they might be trying to go the KSU light approach. They had a few guys on defense that looked like they could play a little.

This is just a great signature from CyFan. Didn't win a single conference game last year, yet they are totes burning it up.

I can't over how Iowa State fans either are delusional or were hoodwinked into buy 61,500 tickets to the first two games. I assumed they believed they were going to beat Iowa but what objective person could have optimism based upon this:

Your head coach is in his seventh year at the school. In years 5 and 6 he had a record of 5-19. Your team hasn't had a winning record since his first season - 2009. His conference record is 10-38.
